We're getting married!

Rewind to 2016 when Taya started working at a little company called Revel in North Beach, San Francisco. Bright eyed entering her first job out of college, she didn't know it yet, but she would soon meet the love of her life and future fiancé Chris Harrington. It took almost a year for them to cross paths, as Chris was too cool to associate with SDRs, when he first G-chatted Taya inviting her to their mutual friend Vinh's surprise birthday. Taya, excited to get a DM from older, cooler, AE Chris, was delighted to be invited and joined one of the nights that would be the first page in the first chapter of the rest of their lives. They had a fantastic night at Beach Blanket Babylon (RIP) and then North Star (IYNYK). Chris and Taya spent the night chatting, drinking, and celebrating (HBD Vinh) until the bar closed. Sparks flew indeed but their connection started as a friendship that night, and when Taya was promoted onto Chris's team (a few months later), he made sure his desk was right next to hers. Many workdays filled with laughter and conversation, work events, and a few camping trips over the year (one at Timber Cove!) - strengthened their connection and bond. An insanely epic trip to Zion National Park (that neither of them were prepared for) brought them closer than ever with a perilous night hike up Angels Landing and a 12 hour canyoneering and drysuit expedition through the park - they had accomplished (survived) a lot together.... However, there was something else on the horizon, Taya's impending move to Prague in the Czech Republic.... It was while walking down Angels Landing that Chris shared with Taya how he felt about her and she couldn't help but wonder "...the timing?!" Over the next two months Taya and Chris spent everyday together, happier than ever. But alas Taya was a free-spirit who was set on traveling the world, she quit Revel and moved to Prague two months later. Taya and Chris spoke everyday even with the 9+ hour time difference. Taya was freezing in Prague in the middle of January and Chris’s heart was just as cold without his new favorite companion. Chris flew to Prague in February to celebrate Taya’s 25th birthday with her, and took her to the storybook town of Český Krumlov and then the warm beautiful beaches of The Algarve in Portugal. Leaving each other after that trip was so very difficult. After returning back to San Francisco, Chris knew he wanted to be with Taya. He quit Revel and they met in May, in one of their now favorite cities, Barcelona, to spend the most beautiful and magical 3 months traveling around Spain, The Netherlands, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and Sicily falling deeply in love. It was that first night in Barcelona that Chris asked Taya to officially be his girlfriend. El resto es historia. Or should we say #therestisharrington.

Taya and Chris awoke in paradise and strolled out to their private dock over crystal blue water. They enjoyed coffee and breakfast, then hopped on a boat to be taken snorkeling off the reef. The day passes with them swimming, reading, tanning, and doing what they love most - spending time together. As the perfect day was coming to a close Chris, knowing Taya lives for a sunset, ordered drinks (his a beer hers an Aperol Spritz) and suggested they watch the sun go down together. In between moments of silence and shared connection about how beautiful and unreal the scenery was, Chris stood Taya up and hugged her. He talked about their life, love, future, and families. Just as the first star sparkled, he said "We should make a wish". With their wishes and the dusky sky on the horizon, he knelt down on one knee and asked Taya to marry him. Taya said YES!!! Taya and Chris were overcome with joy and excitement knowing that they were going to spend their lives together. This was their happiest and most cherished moment yet, proving that wishes do come true. They popped champagne and shared a delicious dinner - little did she know he had one more surprise up his sleeve... The next morning, Chris awoke Taya with a coffee and exclaimed "Time for us to pack!". Taya sighed in sadness at the thought of leaving this gorgeous and now incredibly special island to return home - until Chris finished his sentence...."because we are going to PARIS!!!!!". The new fiancés spent the next three weeks engagement-mooning in Paris, the Swiss Alps, and Porto. Yes...he did good. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
