The dating app Alec and I met through really lived up to its slogan! Alec and I matched in October of 2020 and instantly connected as we learned about our shared love for God and similar values. On our first date we realized that we had actually lived in the same part of San Diego (North Park) and even shopped at the same grocery store two years prior! On our second date Alec created an entire excel spreadsheet (ha!), planning our activities for a day trip to Julian. We started out at a brewery, then went to a festive pumpkin patch and picked out our fav pumpkins, went into town and tried their famous pies, drove to a beautiful lookout where he promptly took out a table from his trunk and a pumpkin carving kit, so we could carve the pumpkins we picked out (you can see a photo of this on the "Pictures" tab). I mean come on! Then we did a beautiful sunset hike and ended the night going to a drive-in movie. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but I was thinking this man is the real deal. Fast forward two years and my hopes have been confirmed! In October of 2022 we planned a trip to Yosemite for our two year anniversary. I had never visited in the Fall and it was so dreamy. He said he wanted to remake our 2nd date so we bought pumpkins for us to carve at one of the lookouts and to my surprise the pumpkin carving turned into a proposal!! Of course I said YES! Alec is one of the funnest people I have ever met. He has a love for life that is contagious. I am so excited to have a hiking, roller-skating, camping, food exploring best friend for life! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with all of you. - Tawni
After the first date with Tawni, discussing topics from loving Jesus to having similar interests in music, TV shows, sharing the same favorite superhero, Iron man, and spending time admiring Luna, I knew that Tawni was something special. After our second date of elaborate planning on my part to try and make a lasting impression, she was sooo into me that she “accidentally” left her phone in my car, so she had an excuse to meet with me the next day for date #3. If you know Tawni, you understand how intentional she is with her time, and there were the hard interview questions to ensure I was worthy of her time. 2 years later, and after spending almost every week together, and countless adventures, it’s safe to say that we had much in common. I'm proud of the woman she is and excited for the future lives we will be sharing as husband and wife. It's a blessing for you all to be joining us for such a monumental day and be able to share this with each of you. -Alec
