Janieve's perspective: When we met, Tauna was the program director of a drop in center for homeless street impacted youth while I was balancing school and softball as an undergraduate in psychology at Northwest Christian University. Tauna always says she loved me at first sight but she didn’t even remember me the first time we talked. I got to hear her speak and I remember fan girling pretty hard as I approached her afterward to express my admiration for her heart and her work in the community. We played against each other in an alumni softball game and I “unintentionally” ran in to her enough times after that until she remembered who I was. We exchanged numbers and never stopped texting. The first time we hung out, Tauna picked me up and took me to get market of choice cake (anyone that knows me knows that this is the key to my heart). We spent the next 3 hours sitting on her couch eating cake, talking about Jesus and all the deep stuff. I had never felt so heard and seen than I did that night. Our connection continued to grow and the rest was history. Tauna's perspective: Woe woe woe...I totally remember the first time I met her...it just took me a minute to remember that I remembered her!! hahaha In all seriousness, from the moment I met Janieve she captivated me with her beautiful bright eyes, infectious smile and joyful spirit. She drew me in and I was done for. I knew I was going to love her for the rest of my life. Even when it didn't make sense, even when I was terrified and even when it didn't seem possible. We fought like hell to be here and I tell you what, I would do it all over again if it meant spending the rest of my life laughing, crying, adventuring, loving and doing absolutely nothing with this beautiful human. Getting to share my life with her is going to be the best adventure. Thank you to everyone that has already been such a huge part of our story!
