His Story : I didn’t know a lot about Tatyanna when she first came. I knew about her cousin, David, but I didn’t even know they were cousins until later down the road. I was very stupid and kept searching for “the one” pretty much every year I was in college. I figured if I looked hard enough, and did my best to be the best I could be every single day that I would eventually find “the one”! After failing time and time again, I gave up. I started working hard on looking my best, but also being the best employee I could be. I figured I would be the rich uncle! Then after falling on my knees and asking God to do with me what He saw fit… I went back to college. I told my parents that I wasn’t going to be looking for a girl or any relationship! I was going to focus on my studies and do the best I could that way I could be done with it! Then… along came Taty and God opening my eyes as wide as the Grand Canyon! I was interested in her, and thought maybe! I went to my parents and asked them what they thought. They said, “I bet if you honor your word to us ‘about going to college and not focusing on a girl’, then God would still have her there for you if she is the one.” I told my parents “ok”. I didn’t want to, but I knew they were right. I continued going to college, and we eventually started talking every day. I wasn’t trying to force it… but I wasn’t going to try to end it! 😅🫣 I enjoyed talking with her, and enjoyed her company every time she came into the cafe. I eventually told Taty that I liked her… and when I say eventually, I mean about two or three weeks into college. 😅😅 after telling her that I liked her, I also told her that I told my parents I would not date anyone until after the school year. I told her that she didn’t have to wait and that I totally understood if she didn’t want to. We continued talking and began getting closer! There were tough times when people would try to come and ruin it, but we stayed focused on God and focused on each other. We communicated with each other so that the lies and gossip wouldn’t have room to work in our hearts. I’m not sure if we were supposed to do that, but it happened. After one semester, it felt like time was flying, but it also felt like time was dragging. We eventually got to the Valentine’s Banquet that our college hosts. I asked my parents if I could take her. It wouldn’t necessarily be a date… just two friends going and having dinner! They said as long as we do not start dating until the school year ends, then yes. We went to the Valentine’s Banquet and enjoyed it with friends! I didn’t think it was going to last, but I continued having faith that if it was God’s Will, then she will still be here even after the semester. Moving into May, we are coming up to Graduation night! I didn’t know when I was going to ask her to be my girlfriend, but I knew it was going to be soon! Right before the ceremony, I asked Preacher if I could ask Taty to be my girlfriend, per my parents’ request. I asked, and after walking and talking with him… he approved. After many things happening that night, we eventually ended up at an IHOP at 1:00 in the morning! We started having food and fellowship with my family and some of her family, as well as some of our friends! It was getting close to the end of the meal, and I texted my parents asking them if I can ask her to be my girlfriend. They said yes! So, I smoothly leaned her way and asked her if this was okay as I changed her contact name from “My Crush” to “My Girlfriend”! My Mom and Dad laughed, and it was funny, but something I will never forget. At that moment, it was something that wasn’t forced, wasn’t rushed, but something that flowed so well! From then, it was many phone calls, many conversations, many laughs, tears, searching for a car, and praying to make sure I was in God’s Will.

Her Story: Graduation night, John Bell asked me to be his girlfriend. We were all together at IHOP with both families, happy to celebrate with us our graduation, and I had noticed he had asked his mom something, but I didn't think anything of it. I didn't think he was going to ask me that night, just because it was so late at night . As we were all getting ready to leave, he was doing something on his phone . He nudged my elbow and showed me his phone contact for me. At first, I couldn’t understand why he was showing me, but then he said, “ I’m thinking of changing your contact name to this. Would that be okay ?” He had changed it from “ my crush” to “my girlfriend”! Then he asked me to be his girlfriend ! I was so excited ! Time went on, and we got closer ! We were able to spend more time with each other’s families, and he even helped me find my first car ! We enjoyed many trips and just created new memories together ! The more I got to know him, the more I loved him ! He is everything that I prayed for in a future husband and more ! By the end of summer, we were talking about marriage and engagement. We both knew that we wanted to get married and that we are God’s Will for each other . He began asking me about rings and, potentially, how I would want him to propose . I truly didn’t care as long as our families were present . I had thought he was going to do it around Christmas time with his family, but that day came and went without it happening . The next day, he had told me that the ring was not going to arrive until late January, so he might not propose till late February . On December 28th, we went to San Antonio to spend some time with my family, and we had family pictures that afternoon. We also were going to the ice sculptures at the resort . I was getting frustrated after the pictures because I was ready to put my hair up and get comfy, but everyone seemed to have been caring about my appearance ! But John so sweetly told me that I looked beautiful and that he wanted to take pictures with me because we don’t take pictures often . After that, I calmed down and went to get a snack while he bought the tickets . We walked in the ice activity, which was Grinch-themed ! We were waiting in a line to take a picture with the Grinch ice sculpture . We got to the front of the line, and we got ready to take a picture. Once they took the picture of us, then he turned to me and got down on one knee ! He had taken off his hat, and I thought the ring was going to be in the hat. But he had branded his hat to say “Marry me” ! I told him yes, and he put the ring on my finger ! Then his family popped out from the side ! I was so surprised and so happy ! I could not be more excited to be marrying the love of my life !❤️
