Harding asks that attendees dress modestly (i.e. please no really short dresses or low cut tops). We ask that you dress in church-like attire and avoid wearing things such as jeans. Our theme is a vintage theme, so you are welcome and encouraged to wear attire that reflects the 1920-1940's era if you have it, including dress hats.
Yes, children are more than welcome. However, the ceremony will be recorded and rewatched by the happy couple for many years to come. If your child gets fussy, we ask that you please escort them out of the chapel. There are rooms located outside of the chapel for your convenience if your child needs a moment. We ask this so that when we rewatch our video, we can hear the ceremony clearly.
Yes, there is ample amount of parking directly in front of the Heritage building where the chapel is located.
Yes. Due to the fact that Harding does not allow dancing of any sort on campus, we will hold our "First Dance" across the street from the chapel at Midnight Oil Coffeeshop's outdoor patio. This will take place at some point during the reception, and guests are welcome to walk across to the patio with the bride and groom.
The ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM. Please be in your seat by this time.
You are welcome to bring a date, just be sure to make note of that on your RSVP card so I'll know in advance.
We ask that you please turn off all cellular and electronic devices during the ceremony. We will have photographers present during the ceremony taking pictures and recording the ceremony. Any devices in use during the ceremony may interfere with the photography, videography, and sound system. However, you are more than welcome to use your phones and take pictures at the reception.
When you walk in, you will see a sign that says, "Pick a seat, not a side. You're loved by both the groom and bride." We will not have separate sides at the wedding. You are welcome to sit wherever you like, but please note that the first couple of rows will be reserved for immediate family.
On Harding's campus, the American Heritage building is located facing Race Street. You will enter the American Heritage building and walk down a hallway where you will see a grand staircase and some elevators. These lead to the second floor of the Heritage building, and will lead you directly to the Cone Chapel.
Our wedding will be a vintage theme reflective of the 1920's-1940's fashion style. You are welcome to wear clothing that reflects that vintage era, and please don't be afraid to get a little crazy with the hats! Think anywhere from Audrey Hepburn to Kentucky Derby ;)
