(As told by Tatum) November of 2020 was when we met, Dyllan moved in across the hall during the school semester at our student apartments. I was already friends with his roommates before he moved in so when he came home from work one day there I was just sitting in his living room. We quickly became friends as we have similar humor and it was very easy to be around him. We went on our first date December 11, 2020, to Olive Garden, Ax throwing and looked at Christmas lights with hot chocolate. I didn't know our first date was a real "first date" as our roommates wanted to go on a date with each other but were nervous, so they asked Dyllan to find someone to double date with, he then decided to ask me (the best decision ever) Our first kiss was New Year 2021 and for a couple of months after we got to know each other and went on a bunch of fun dates until Dyllan asked me to be his girlfriend on May 1, 2021. We first said "I love you" on September 10, 2021, it was so cute we went out to a nice restaurant for dinner randomly and I could tell Dyllan was nervous, he just kept staring at me, smiling, and saying "I really like you". Dinner ended and we were still just sitting at our table looking at each other when Dyllan said "Well let's go" I was too nervous to say it first so I just got up and we went home. While watching a movie before bed he finally said it, and of course, I said it back. We moved into our first apartment together on June 28, 2022, and had to sleep on a deflating air mattress that was also our couch for a couple of months as I just started Grad school and Dyllan was starting a new job, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. We got engaged on May 1, 2024, our 3-year anniversary, I wanted to do something simple as it was going to be a busy week with graduation and family in town so I suggested a picnic. Dyllan said he wanted to plan it so I let him do it, we got sushi from our favorite spot and swig. He "so happened" to have a picnic basket and blanket in his car for us to use (I should have known what was going to happen just from that). Then went up to an overlook near the gardens in St George at sunset, when we got to the clearing Benson Boone's "Forever and a Day" started playing, there were twinkling lights and a sign that said, "Marry me?". We are very lucky to have found a love like this, and we can't wait to celebrate with all of our family and friends!
