FAQs

Question

We want you to treat this weekend like a vacation!

Answer

Come early or stay a little longer - we’d love for you to explore all that San Miguel has to offer during this unforgettable weekend. With Valentine’s Day, Super Bowl Sunday, and Presidents’ Day, it’s the perfect opportunity to make it a fun and memorable trip! We do recommend you being in San Miguel by Thursday to get acclimated to the elevation and explore the city before our festivities start Friday!

Question

What is the Callejoneada (parade) on Friday night?

Answer

A Callejoneada is a traditional Mexican wedding parade through the cobblestone streets of San Miguel de Allende. On Friday night, we’ll celebrate with the lively callejoneada right at our venue. The celebration will feature traditional mojigangas (giant bride and groom puppets)! Rooted in centuries-old tradition, this joyful procession blends wedding celebration with local culture - turning the night into a fun, festive experience shared by all. You won’t want to miss this!!!

Question

What Shoes Should I Wear?

Answer

While exploring San Miguel during the day and evening, we highly recommend comfortable tennis shoes. The city’s charming cobblestone streets can be uneven, and you’ll likely find yourself doing quite a bit of walking! For our wedding festivities, cowboy boots are a must for Friday’s White-Out Tejas Welcome Party, and for Saturday’s wedding, we recommend small block heels or platforms.

Question

How to navigate the city?

Answer

We highly recommend walking whenever possible! We have always felt very safe walking around both day and night. Uber is available throughout San Miguel, but we recommend allowing extra travel time when using transportation.

Question

Weather:

Answer

February is beautiful in San Miguel! Daytime temperatures are warm in the low to mid‑70s°F, while mornings and evenings can be cool, dropping into the 40s–50s°F. Fun fact: San Miguel is at a higher elevation than Denver (6,200 ft) so the city’s nights can feel crisp (bring layers to stay comfortable from day to night!)

Question

Guest & Plus Ones:

Answer

Our wedding venue has a limited capacity, so we can only accommodate guests formally listed on your invitation. If you received a plus-one, your invitation will specifically read: “Your Name & Your Guest Name.” We love your little ones, but our celebration is adults-only. Thank you so much for understanding!

Question

Passport & Pesos:

Answer

Passport: To enter Mexico you will need a valid passport. For travel to Mexico, your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay BUT it is highly recommended that it remains valid for at least 6 months after your arrival date to help avoid potential issues. EXAMPLE: Passport would need to be valid through at least August 12, 2027 to meet that stricter standard. Pesos: Mexico’s official currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN). Almost all places accept credit cards, but we recommend you have pesos on hand for convenience when purchasing items from street vendors, cafes, or paying for taxis. Check with your local bank or go to a currency exchange!
