Grant and Rachel's journey began in their sophomore year at Sebastian River High School, where they were in the same class and Grant sat behind Rachel in 5th period english. Although they barely spoke back then, fate had bigger plans for them. Both enrolled in the pre-International Baccalaureate (IB) program, they found themselves in close proximity throughout their junior and senior years. As their friendship blossomed in junior year, an interest sparkled between them, but the timing wasn't right. Grant went off to the University of Central Florida, while Rachel attended Florida State University. After their freshman year, they returned to Sebastian for the summer. Their friend groups reunited and celebrated the Fourth of July at Rachel's parents' house, and that’s when everything changed. They became inseparable from that moment on, culminating in Grant asking Rachel to be his girlfriend on September 1, 2017. Their relationship faced the challenge of long distance for five months—Grant in Orlando and Rachel in Tallahassee—before he decided to transfer to FSU. Together in Tallahassee, they both started working at TGI Fridays, forming memories and friendships that would last a lifetime. They graduated with honors from Florida State University from the comfort of their homes in Sebastian during the pandemic. In pursuit of her dream to become a physician, Rachel and Grant relocated to Tampa. It was during this time that Grant discovered his passion for becoming a Physician Assistant and began applying to PA schools. While Rachel was in her fourth year of medical school in Lakeland, Grant proposed on November 24th 2024 at Goodwood Museum, and she joyfully accepted! Their love story continued to unfold as Grant was accepted into FSU's College of Medicine PA program, and Rachel matched at the FSU Internal Medicine Residency Program in Tallahassee, Florida. Together, they have navigated life’s journey, and with the alignment of stars and support from loved ones, they are excited to celebrate their love as they prepare to say "I do."
