Joseph and I met our freshman year of high school in 2015, back when Joseph’s best strategy for talking to me was asking a friend for my number so I could “help him with his homework.” (Spoiler: whether he actually needed help is still up for debate—but it was definitely the start of something special.) One text turned into daily conversations, hallway hangouts, and eventually a relationship that somehow survived high school, college, growing up, buying a house, and even fully renovating it without too many disagreements—which we consider a major accomplishment. Fast forward to August 12, 2024, when Joseph proposed in Algarve, Portugal—a massive level-up from our high-school Outback Restaurant dates. Now we’re getting married on August 22, 2026, officially proving that his very questionable homework excuse was the best decision he ever made!
