You should RSVP before May 1st. It's a good idea to send it as soon as you can, though, to ensure you have a spot and help the hosts with planning! .............................. You should arrive at the ceremony by 5 PM. It’s a good idea to get there a little earlier if you can, just to find your seat and settle in! ............................ Yes, there is a formal dress code. Women should wear a long dress, and men should wear a suit and tie or a bowtie. We mainly recommend staying in the historic center, as it is the heart of Cartagena and where the wedding will take place. Please visit the "travel" section for some hotel options. For the beach day, you should bring your swimsuit, sunscreen, and the best energy to have an amazing time. Transportation will be provided for round trip from the dock to the island where the beach day will take place, and lunch will be on us. Let's Have Fun! ............................. United State citizens do not need a visa to enter Colombia. If you are a US citizen, then you will need to show your US passport to the immigration officer when entering the country.

Is traveling to Cartagena, Colombia safe?

Answer

Yes, traveling to Cartagena is generally safe, especially in tourist areas like the historic Old City, Bocagrande, and Getsemaní. Cartagena has a strong police presence in these areas, and local authorities prioritize tourist safety. However, as with any popular destination, it’s wise to take common-sense precautions: -Avoid isolated areas: Stick to well-populated, tourist-friendly zones, especially at night. -Guard your belongings: Pickpocketing can occur in crowded areas, so keep your valuables secure. -Use reputable transportation: If you are taking a Taxi, please make sure you take it from your hotel or we recommend to use Uber.

Do I need to tip in restaurants/transportations and how much?

Answer

A 10% service charge is often included in the bill. Saying "yes" to this is customary. In small family-owned restaurants, tipping a few thousand pesos is appreciated if no service charge is included. Tipping taxi drivers or Ubers is not common.

Can I drink tap water in Colombia? / Puedo tomar agua de la llave?

Although major cities have excellent running water systems making tap water perfectly drinkable, we advise our guests to drink bottled water. ....... To avoid surprises, we recommend always asking for prices before accepting any service or making a purchase. If you’re ever unsure about the cost of something, feel free to ask us. ....... Es común que cualquier servicio o producto que les ofrezcan en la calle, como una foto con las mulatas, masajes en la playa, trenzas o pulseras, tiene un costo, incluso si parece un gesto amistoso. Para evitar sorpresas, les recomendamos preguntar siempre por los precios antes de adquirir cualquier servicio o producto.
