We first really met and got to know each other through karaoke. A church group of ours routinely went to sing and hang out every Friday for karaoke. The first time I noticed Tate was when he chose to sing "Be Prepared" from The Lion King, and the first time Tate noticed me was when I convinced him to do a duet with me. For our first duet together, we sang "A Whole New World" from Aladdin. However, instead of the normal movie version we were both expecting, a mutual friend of ours told the DJ to switch it with the end credits version that was more intense. After a few more weeks of awkward flirting, Tate asked me out on a date.
Announcing the unexpectedly early marriage of Tate and Nichole Henvey! Due to the precautions taken in order to lessen the spread of COVID-19, and in the interest of preserving the health of both our families and ourselves, we decided to hasten the wedding ceremony. We were able to put together a small ceremony at short notice thanks to Pastor Justin Sommer, both of our employers for their understanding, and our families for all the last minute work they put in. We were married March 24, 2020 with the maximum of 10 people in the building: the pastor, parents of both the bride and groom, the Maid of Honor Olivia Timmons, the bride's sister Rebecka as the impromptu photographer, and the (freshly returned from Japan) matchmaker Ben Knox as the Best Man. We are anticipating rescheduling the wedding celebration for our one year anniversary with more plans to be announced in the coming months. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and understanding in this difficult time.
