One of our favorite places to walk around! We usually park on South Lakeshore Blvd across from the Oracle building. The entire trail is 10 miles all the way around the lake but the boardwalk itself is ~1.5 miles. Gorgeous city and lake views!
Wide open park with a beautiful view of the Austin skyline. People will be out an about having picnics, playing sports, and there are usually a bunch of dogs hanging out too!
South Congress is a great way to see a lot of Austin all on one street. There are funky stores that are so fun to explore and have been there for years along with great food options. The famous "I love you so much" mural is on the wall of Jo's Coffee and the "Willie for President" mural is a short walk down the road by Home Slice Pizza. There's always live music going on at one of the bars or venues.
Located in the heart of Zilker Park, Barton Springs is one of Austin’s most iconic natural spots—and the perfect place to cool off! This spring-fed pool stays a refreshing 68–70°F year-round, making it a favorite for swimmers, sunbathers, and nature lovers alike. Whether you’re diving in for a swim, lounging on the grassy hillside, or just soaking up the chill Austin vibes, Barton Springs is a must-visit for a relaxing, uniquely local experience.
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Austin, Deep Eddy Pool is the oldest swimming pool in Texas and a local favorite for its laid-back charm. Fed by natural spring water, the pool is refreshingly cool and perfect for a relaxing dip on a hot day. With a retro vibe, scenic surroundings, and family-friendly atmosphere, it’s a great spot to unwind, swim some laps, or just enjoy a peaceful slice of Austin history. It is also right next to Pool Burger which is a small but incredibly delicious burger joint!
