Question

Is there a registry? Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?

Answer

Our registry is located on this website. If you navigate to the menu bar indicated by the three dashed lines, you will see "registry" as one of those options. If you choose to purchase a gift off of our registry on Zola, it can be automatically shipped to us so that you don't need to worry about shipping or handling! If you choose to bring a gift in person to the event, there will be a table marked for gifts near the guest book located at the bottom of the stairs connecting the second and third levels. Please note: If you have purchased a gift, please ensure to mark it as "purchased" as to avoid others purchasing duplicates of the item. Some gifts are marked as "group gifts", which means that you can choose to contribute as much funding for the gift in question as you desire without having to purchase the whole amount. Other gifts are open funding, such as "Apartment Fund" which are there to enable us to have some cash reserves for these items.

Question

What time should I arrive at the wedding ceremony?

Answer

As the actual ceremony will be occurring at 4:00pm, we request that all guests begin arriving at 3:15 and arrive by 3:45pm at the LATEST to ensure that people will be completely settled prior to the start of the ceremony. This ensures that the entire wedding will go as scheduled and is respectful of everyone's time.

Question

Attire

Answer

Attire will be semi-formal (aka dressy casual), for example, the ladies might wear a nice comfortable dress, a blouse with dress pants, or a jumpsuit. For the gentlemen, dress pants with a long-sleeved button-up shirt, a sport coat, or a casual suit. Our wedding theme colors are earth tones including greens and tans, so if you’re looking to coordinate, neutral palettes including greens, browns, and soft blues would look lovely, but a color dress code is not required! Also, keep in mind that the venue will be outdoors and dancing will be encouraged! Wear shoes you're comfortable wearing for several hours and over some uneven terrain (stilettos might sink into the grass/dirt). Come looking sharp and ready to dance!

Question

Venue

Answer

Our wedding will be held in the heart of rural Jamul at a venue with beautiful rustic charm. The ceremony will be held on the lowest of the four terraces where the terrain will be mostly flat, but will likely have some lumps and bumps. To get to the ceremony level, you will walk from the parking levels down the central staircase connecting to the third level, turn to your right, and travel down the path that is just past the small cottage. Please find a seat you like, respecting any seats that we have reserved. Cocktail hour will immediately follow the ceremony on the third level. There will be space on the third level for mingling amongst the tables, on the dance floor, and in the outdoor barn where small bites will be available. The open bar is located just across from the outdoor barn with more seating/tables and a fire pit available to enjoy. Throughout the property, the terrain may be uneven or soft in some places, so please keep proper footwear in mind when selecting what you would like to wear. The weather will hopefully be very temperate at the end of May, but please check the weather in advance to know if you might want something warmer to wear as we will have some limited heating systems available for use.

Question

Parking

Answer

Parking will be on site and we will have signage posted directing you where to go. Once you are on Olive Vista Drive, you will follow the road past when it becomes unpaved. The wedding venue will be at the last house at the end of the road on the right. Once you arrive, you will drive alongside the fence to your right further back into the property and signage will direct you where to turn left to park. There will be two levels for parking, please park keeping in mind that we may have limited space for a lot of cars (carpooling is highly encouraged!). The lower of the two parking levels should also be considered for those who may have mobility restrictions and may need easier access to the levels of the ceremony and reception.

Question

Are Children Allowed?

Answer

We request that there be no children at this event and highly recommend finding a sitter or some other arrangement for any children. We want parents and/or guardians to be able to enjoy themselves without worrying about their little ones, especially with alcohol around!

Question

Phone Policy

Answer

We will be having a no-phone ceremony. We have a very talented wedding photographer and videographer who will be present to capture every moment of the ceremony, and we will be sharing the photos we get on our website after we receive them. We would like our guests to be present in the moment without the distraction of looking through a screen during this special time. We will announce a time during the ceremony where guests may take their phones out to take a picture after the wedding procession has made it to their places, but we request that you please keep your phones out of sight until that announcement is made as phones will ruin any pictures our photographer will be taking as we make our way down the aisle and stand at the altar.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! We will have an open bar located across from the barn on the reception level stocked with wines, liquors, and his and hers signature drinks!
