Do or Do Not - There is No Try.

A few years ago, in a Sports Pub not so far away...

April 2016: Tassia was working for Disney, attending art school, and looking for a second job for night shifts. Sheela, a friend from work, suggested that she look into a serving job in Crystal City. Tassia agreed to have lunch there with her and talk to Sheela’s husband Jeff (a manager there) about a position. She was hired on the spot. When Tassia got the “grand tour” of the 3 story sports pub, Jeff introduced her to daytime management. That’s when she met Steve. Steve had been at the pub for years, and was a volunteer firefighter... It wasn’t long after they started working together that Steve and Tassia became friends. They immediately bonded over Star Wars, and other fandoms were soon to follow. With Steve being daytime management, and Tassia being on night shift, they only had the opportunity to talk during shift change. It wasn’t until her school schedule changed that they really got a chance to know each other. Tassia would come into the pub after class and have lunch before her shift, while working on assignments. During this time, Steve learned Tassia was an artist, and she learned that he made his own hot sauce and created the artwork on the label himself. Two years of friendship went by in a flash. Somewhere along the way, they realized there was something more there and decided to give it a shot. It wasn’t long after their first date that they understood their potential, and saw how a life together was easily possible. They knew early on that getting married on Star Wars Day was only fitting since it was the first thing they bonded over. Things seemed to fall into place in an instant. Tassia’s twins, Kayden and Dakota, adored Steve from the start. He found great happiness in having kids running around, so the lovebirds agreed that more kids needed to be a thing. Along came their daughter, Scarlett. With an entirely untraditional start: they just fit, and found everything they needed in each other’s love.

The Proposal

It was a rainy day in September: Steve and Tassia were locking up the house, going to take Kayden, Dakota and Cyrus out to dinner. The kids were all arguing in the front yard, yelling over each other. Pure chaos. Tassia jokingly said something about this being Steve’s life now, to which Steve responded with “I’m looking forward to it - are you?” He nervously fumbled around getting the ring out of his pocket and proposed. Tassia thought ‘if he could be in the middle of all this chaos, and still follow through with a proposal - he’s truly the one’ Done deal - lets do this.
