Bryan and Tasshia first made it official in 2008 after years of being just friends. As we all know, youth breeds uncertainty. It also breeds change. Typical of a teenage romance, they found themselves on and off more times than they could count. They set off on different paths on multiple occasions, but no matter what they always ended up crossing one another’s again. In August of 2015, Bryan moved to Arizona for school. The following May, Tasshia joined him. Everything wasn’t perfect right away as it hadn’t been back home, but the change of scenery was nice for them. They tried again and found themselves falling into the familiar pattern of going their separate ways. However, their paths met up once more in 2018. They sat and talked just as they had done 10 years prior and decided that enough was enough. They were partners in life. Their hearts really only beat correctly when they were beating for one another. So, they made a promise that year. On May 10th of 2019, Bryan took that promise and sealed it with a ring. On April 16th of 2020, they will take vows and seal them with a kiss. There are lots of different definitions of true love, but to most, it’s freedom. It’s the ability to be yourself completely with another person. It’s having a best friend. It’s trusting someone with your life and knowing that they trust you with theirs. But it can be messy, and trying. It can be frustrating and sometimes it can seem fruitless. It can get stormy, but it is important to remember that storms pass. A plant that bears no fruit one season can bear an abundance the next, and messes can always be cleaned up. People get so caught up in striving for perfection, but no one has a perfect love story. Finding someone that you will choose and who will choose you over and over again no matter the circumstance is perfection. Through it all, Bryan and Tasshia have known true love, and because they have one another, they will always know it. Because of that, we celebrate.
