It all began back in 2019. We matched on a dating app called ‘hinge’ & started chatting. After a failed attempt at meeting up, both deleting our dating profiles & losing touch for several months, we rematched & reconnected in February, 2020. We went on one amazing date, bouncing around in Bushwick until it was way too late, both of us hesitant to call it a night, but planned to meet up again on Saturday night. Tashina was at a birthday party, text David that she was headed back to the neighborhood & was free to hang. No response. Turns out the text was never delivered, both thinking the other blew off the plans (we figured it out the next morning & laughed about it). Little did we know the entire world would shutdown in a few short days. Covid hit. Both of us went upstate (separately), continued to text, FaceTime & talk on the phone (wait, what? Who talks on the phone with someone they went on one date with?!). We got to know each other in a very different way than we were used to. A bit of time passed by, both returning to the city & ok with going on a social distant walk, a hike or a park hang. We spent countless hours talking, getting to know each other and falling in love. Very early on we both knew this was it. We were ‘home’ with one another. It’s been the craziest time to meet but we are so incredibly thankful & wouldn’t change a thing about our story. Fast forward… In October, 2021 we headed up to Salem, Massachusetts for a seasonal & spooky getaway. October 5th started like a normal day during a getaway for us. Taking Rylee for a walk on the beach, eating some breakfast and then exploring Salem. The Salem Witch Museum, The All Souls Lounge, a walking tour of the town, etc. David insisted on going to dinner after the walking tour as he gets very tired after a big meal & would be done for the night (I mean we all do, right?). Off to dinner we go. David documenting every step of the way as he had a diamond ring hidden in his pants. After dinner we went on the pier, every waiter and waitress tripping over each other trying to get photos and videos of us. David called the restaurant earlier in the day to let them know that he was planning on popping the question. The next thing Tashina knew, David was on one knee and they were both crying and laughing and hugging. It was the most perfect & magical moment. Our story keeps getting better each day. We’re over the moon to spend our lives together & to celebrate with all of our family and friends who we love dearly. Thank you, we can’t begin to express how much you all mean to us.
