When Its Meant To Be

#EatDrinkandBeTerry

We've all heard the saying if you love someone let them go, if they come back it was meant to be. If you have never heard that saying before (even if you have) read Our Story and see why we were meant to be. TaShawn already knew some of my family. He and my uncle Aaron were friends. We officially met at the beginning of 2011 at a nightclub called Bentlys. We were both watching Aaron go wild on the dance floor, TaShawn made a joke, and we both laughed. The conversation went from there. Turns out he was a funny guy and I liked to laugh. The chemistry between us was almost instant and soon a friendship was formed. Eventually we wanted to be more than friends but we chose not to act on those feelings before losing touch in 2012, but as fate would have it, we crossed paths again in late of 2013 when Aaron came down from VA to visit. Aaron mentioned TaShawn was coming over but I didn't think anything of it because it had been a while since we seen or spoken to each other. When TaShawn walked into the house, our eyes instantly connected, and we both smiled. All those feelings I thought were gone, instantly returned. I knew then that I didn't want to lose touch again and TaShawn felt the same way. We hung out when time allowed us to over the years, never losing touch again. In 2018, we decided to take our friendship to the next level and made it official. We had spoken about marriage from time to time but never really saying anything more than we were going to get married. In 2020 after purchasing our home, the conversation became more frequent than it had in the past. People would ask often when we were going to tie the knot and TaShawn's response was "when I propose, no one will know until I do it". He was true to his word. On July 3, 2022, we were having a small gathering at home with family and some friends for the 4th of July when my brother in law started playing one of my favorite songs, All My Life. I turned around looking for TaShawn (we sing to each other often) and he was walking out the house with a ring box from Zales. I LOST IT!!! (in a good way of course). We can't wait to begin this next chapter in our lives together. God couldn't have blessed us more than he already has. Our love for one another is pure and unimaginable. We allow each other to be who we are and love each other unconditionally. Our relationship is built on friendship, communication, love, honesty, and understanding. The fact that he keeps me laughing daily is icing on the cake. When its meant to be, it will be! Thank you all for reading Our Story!!
