Rocky Mountain National Park

CO

If you want to see elk, mule deer, and/ or a moose, you'll want to go to Rocky Mountain National Park. You could simply drive around and look for animals or take a hike! The park has two entrances. The closest entrance to Winter Park is the Grand Lake Entrance Station (50 minutes north of Winter Park). The moose like to hangout about 10 miles in. If you keep driving this way, you'll drive on Trail Ridge Road. Trail Ridge Road is the highest continuous paved highway in the United States If you are looking for a great short hike with alpine lake views, go to Bear Lake. The Bear Lake Trail is a simple walk around a beautiful lake. (It's on the other side of the park closer to Estes Park). The Emerald Lake Trail is ranked moderate on AllTrails, as a more difficult and longer climb, but the summit is amazing! This is where Josh proposed! It starts from the Bear Lake Trail.
