We met through a mutual friend at Brian's family cabin the summer of 2014. Bonding over our shared interested in waterskiing, we spent the entire day talking. Emma's initial thoughts were, 'I have never met anyone that can talk as much as this guy and he's super cute!' Brian remembers thinking, 'She's hot. I have no shot.' Completely out of character, Emma made all the moves, asked for Brian's number and planned their first date, which Brian would later cancel to go to his lake. Emma gave him a second chance and thankfully, it went well. Throughout the remainder of the summer and into the next semester of classes, Emma attended UW Madison while Brian studied at Edgewood College. It only took 3 short months to know this was more than a summer fling, Emma did what Brian couldn't, and said "I love you!" After 3 years of dating, Emma graduated and took a year abroad to teach English in Thailand and Spain. Throughout our long distance relationship, Brian graduated and moved to Illinois, sharing all our first apartment tours virtually. We spent 3 years in IL, growing our resumes, switching careers, and welcoming our dog child Louis into our lives. Year 7 brought some of our most exciting adventures. We moved to Milwaukee, Emma started a new career in dental hygiene, and we got engaged! At 8 years and counting we bought and moved into a house in Wauwatosa, 2 blocks from Emma's office. We are busy at work and happily making our house a home!

Emma and I went to her cabin in Northern WI to spend time with her parents and catch the last glimpses of the fall colors. Soon after we arrived, we decided to take the canoe around the lake. Prior to getting into the canoe, Mike realized that we "forgot the seat cushions" and asked Emma to go snag them from the garage. In the time it took Emma to run up to their garage and grab the cushions (she's quick!), I waited for her on the dock, while Mike and Lesli managed to position themselves in front of the pier catching the whole proposal on video. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!

We are both so fortunate to have a large group of supportive friends and family with whom to celebrate our special day. Unfortunately, we are limited in the number of individuals we can invite and kindly request you respect the formal invitations as written. Although we love your little ones, this is a 21 years of age and older affair. We are so appreciative of your understanding.
