We both wound up at the same dance party and John decided to entertain his friend standing on the sidelines with some spunk-tastic dance moves and joined the awkward dance circle I was in. We danced most of the party next to each other without exchanging a single word (yep, just let that awkwardness sink in). We finally spoke the next week when we ran into each other at our church building. After that brief conversation and a Facebook request from John, I made a rare bold move and invited him to a friend's cabin weekend when someone backed out last minute (yes, he was barely an acquaintance, and no he didn't know anyone else there). I figured if he was bold enough to dance like that, he might be crazy enough to come on the trip, and if that was the case, we might just get along. I was right.
