Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Taryn Hunt-Smith and David Bain
May is such a fun time in the desert! Lots of activities to do - mountain biking, climbing, running, rafting, hiking. Late May can be a little hot, but the La Sals are at 8,000 feet, so temps are much more reasonable. Let us know if you want recs on places to camp, hike/run, rent bikes, gear to float the Daily section of the Colorado, etc.
Castle Valley/Fisher Towers

Castle Valley/Fisher Towers

Fisher Towers Rd, Moab, UT 84532

We highly recommend hiking around Castle Valley and the Fisher Towers. If you haven't spent time in the desert southwest, this is the perfect way to soak up the beauty of the red rocks and stunning desert landscape.

La Sal Mountains

La Sal Mountains

The Whole Enchilada - Burro Pass, Geyser Pass Rd, Moab, UT 84532

For the mountain bikers out there, we highly recommend biking the Whole Enchilada. This 35-mile bike ride (with 8,000 feet of descending) covers every type of terrain - from winding through aspen forests in the high alpine to technical desert riding as you near Moab. For the hikers/runners, we recommend exploring the La Sals as well, especially in late May when the desert can be a little hot. Let us know if you want specific trail recs!

Dead Horse Point State Park

Dead Horse Point State Park, Moab, UT 84532

Super beautiful lookout over a winding section of the Colorado River. This is particularly beautiful during golden hour at sunrise or sunset.
