PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE BRIDE OR GROOM. They are both busy and full time students. Plans may change as they’re putting together what they can. Try contacting their family members. If you need immediate help, talk to the wedding planner, Jon Andersen (andersen102416@gmail.com)
It will be held in Kansas City, Missouri. They will be sealed in the KC temple and a reception will be the following day at the Kansas City Airport Marriott Hotel.
Good question! Chris and I are both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, meaning that we believe we can make and keep sacred covenants (promises) with our Heavenly Father in temples. As such, one of those is a marriage covenant called a “sealing.” We will be getting sealed in the temple one day before the ring ceremony, so we will have “two weddings” but we would have legally been married the day before the ring ceremony. Here’s a video explaining what a temple marriage would look like and why we do it: https://youtu.be/gA6aTiMDYho
Not quite. Since we will have already been married, this is more of a ceremony for everyone who couldn’t share the moment with us to do so. It’s also a great opportunity to have everyone in the family involved. Since this is ceremonial, it is going to be the stereotypical type of wedding ceremony. We invited friends to join us for this time and we’re very excited to have you there too!
Not many people are allowed in the temple, not because it’s secret but because it is sacred. Not even all members are allowed in to see the ceremony. The sealing ceremony is very cherished and one of the last ordinance we can conduct here. As a result, there are other covenants, such as baptism, confirmation, and the endowment, that you must complete beforehand. If you are a member who has not made those covenant, you cannot go either. Here’s a video explaining what an endowment is: https://youtu.be/Fd8tVXN9y6Q
Yes! :) please join us there! :) since not everyone can go in, there will be many people outside, waiting for us. Feel free to stand on the grounds, waiting for us with other friends and family.
Pretty much our entire lives. We went to the same school from elementary school through high school, and now college. We were high school sweethearts, lasted two years apart while he served his mission, and celebrated five years together this past December!
Chris spent two years in and near New Mexico engaging in proselytizing, church service, humanitarian aid, and community service. Missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are volunteer representatives of the Church. He paid to do it, and will be happy to talk to you about it at a later time.
Yes! You must reserve your room by MAY 1st! Please call the Airport Marriott Hotel of Kansas City at (816) 464-2200 to reserve a room. You can also visit the website (https://www.marriott.com/meeting-event-hotels/group-corporate-travel/groupCorp.mi?resLinkData=Huffer%20Winkie%20Wedding%20Ceremony%20%26%20Reception%5EMCIAP%60WHWWHWA%60104.00%60USD%60false%604%605/30/19%606/2/19%605/1/19&app=resvlink&stop_mobi=yes) for more details on the specific block.
The first ceremony, the sealing, will be at the KC temple. The ring ceremony and subsequent reception will be at the Kansas City Airport Marriott Hotel (775 Brasilia Ave, Kansas City, MO 64153)
Depends on the activity you want to go to! If you’re going to the temple, it’s recommended you be there half an hour early. If you’re only going outside for pictures, be there at the posted time of 1:30. We’ll be out shortly after! If we’re talking about the ring ceremony, please please please be ready by 11! The ceremony will start AT 11 o’clock and if the bride is walking down the isle, you’re too late! Everything else is just an estimate. Make it as close to the posted time as you can but late is also ok! See you all then
We have the option to do so using this website! Click on the tab/section that is marked "RSVPs" and then select the events you want to go to! You may also mail the tearaway card on the bottom of your invitation back to us if desired and we will mark it for you!
May 1st, which is also the last day you can reserve a hotel room with the wedding block. Any day later than that, please be prepared to bring your own chair and sandwich!
Not really. We placed everything under the “schedule” tab and as you RSVP on this website, it tells you exactly which you are invited to.
We’ll be dressed up so you can be too! :) this is more of a causal affair so it’s not formal but Sunday Best is desired!
Absolutely! Although, the hotel is on airport grounds so if you are traveling, there's no need for a car.
If your invitation includes kids, they can come! :)
Since we are catering, we are planning on a certain number of people. However, if you added a plus one to your RSVP, bring them along! :)
Yep! It will be a buffet of food, mostly Italian dishes. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions when you RSVP so that we can make sure you’re taken care of as well!
Since it will be just a ring ceremony, we estimate approximately 30 minutes. The temple sealing will also be about the same amount of time. The reception that follows will last as long as we want to keep the party going!
We’ll get it taken care of! We included a message portion of the food RSVP section to where you can put your restrictions. You can also message Jon Andersen at jonandersen3@gmail.com and we’ll make sure you’re safe and comfortable!
Right here, on this website! Check out the registry tab to get a better idea of what we’re looking for! :) We’ve also created an additional registry on Amazon, the link is included in the registry page if you would like to look at that as well!
