Durango in July can be warm. Think mid 80s during the day and low 50s at night. Bring sunscreen and a mid-weight jacket. The venue is surrounded by pine trees so should offer ample shade during the day. There is always possibility of monsoonal, afternoon rain showers, but we will work around it - just be prepared!
It is a campground. There is a shade pavilion on site with grassy space for games and mingling. There are picnic tables there already and we plan to provide as many comfortable chairs as possible. We want to make it a fun and comfortable experience for everyone! The ground may be soft, so we recommend not wearing any crazy heels (Loggers excepted). There are toilets on site, and we will have a handwashing station.
Yes! If you are local and able to please do! If you have extras you don't mind lending out please let us know - we can pick them up and have them onsite for the weekend.
This time is totally optional but wanted to give our out-of-town guests a chance to spend a bit more time to mingle with everyone! We will provide pizza from one of our favorite restaurants and will have drinks available (alcoholic and non). Come hang out, play games and eat good pizza!
There is a short section of dirt to get to the campground. It is well maintained but can be a little bumpy. Most vehicles will do fine, but if you are worried, please let Tarryn or Jordan know.
There are only 18 spots available for parking. We need to reserve at least four spots for folks who need it, the caterer and musician, so we kindly ask that people CARPOOL as much as possible! We are expecting 75 people but can also park some cars in the group campsite a short walk down the road.
Ally and Richard Brown have offered for people to park at their place on Junction Creek Road and bike to the venue! This will save us on parking at the venue and keep people from having to bike too far home in the dark!
Thursday- Check- in for the campground begins at 3 pm for those who plan to camp the whole time! Friday- The welcome dinner will be come and go! Stay for however long you like. We aim to have pizza there at 5:30. Saturday- We will have some social time beginning at 2 on Saturday prior to a short ceremony - feel free to come up for the afternoon to hang out! The ceremony will begin around 4 so please arrive in time for that!
You never know what people in Durango consider as being dressed up. We want you to have fun and feel comfortable in your outfit. Wear what you want but bring a jacket and comfy shoes!
Yes, we plan to provide beer and wine (Thanks Tarryn's dad!). We want you to have fun but keep in mind that you may be travelling back to town on a narrow and windy road. Be safe and conservative if you plan to travel. Let's all be responsible adults and plan accordingly.
Zia Taqueria will be catering. (It's a lot like Chipotle.) We chose Zia because they source from local farmers and can accommodate dietary restrictions easily. They are providing a taco bar with chicken, beef, or vegetarian options. They can accommodate dairy free and gluten free people as well. If you have any other restrictions or allergies, please let Tarryn know. Zia's also provides Mexican wedding cookies. There will be cake!
We have hired one of our favorite local artists to play! TBD if he takes request but we will update people if so!
