NaKiya is the Brides God Sister and Partner in Crime. Growing up in Chappelle Gardens we were inseparable. NaKiya and I have always been supportive of one another. Quick story, anytime we had a disagreement I would try to bake something for her as a peace offering and at that time, I was not the best baker…lol but she still obliged me and accepted my peace offering anyway or she would show up with strawberry Twizzlers because she knows they are my favorite and just like that whatever we were fighting over went away instantly. The memories that NaKiya and I share are countless and the bond we share, neither time nor space could ever change. There are 30 plus years of Sisterhood between us, and I am beyond blessed to be sharing this moment with her as my Maid of Honor!

Tiffany, my dear cousin, and voice of reason has always been a sounding board. She is a natural nurturer and always gives of herself freely when needed. Tiffany has always been encouraging and supportive of me and my dreams. She has inspired me to go after the things I desire most in this life and she encourages me to release the things that no longer serve me. She is a beautiful example of living your life unapologetically and full out when you walk in your truth and to the beat of your own internal drum. Tiffany knows who she is, and she makes no apologies for it and that is AWESOME!!! Our relationship is near and dear to my heart, and I am grateful to have her in my tribe.

Re’Tina or “Selfie Queen” is the brides’ older sister, a photographer, and business owner. She is a Creative and is very passionate about the things she does. She has the gifted ability to generate unique and out of the box ideas on the fly, and approach problems in a novel way. A gift that only could have been given to her by God whom she loves dearly. When she is working on a project for herself, someone else, or assisting me with something you can almost see the wheels spinning around in her head as the creative part of her brain powers up. When around her you can’t help but to be inspired and the creative part of you activates and before you know it you are also bouncing creative and amazing ideas around with her. Re’Tina always gives a 100% and it comes from a genuine place. I love her and I couldn’t imagine this day without her.

Etta is another sister of the bride and right hand. She is also the bride’s prayer partner, liturgical dance partner and personal glam artist. Etta is a prayer warrior; she has prayed for and with Ta’Rori on many occasions while giving words of encouragement when needed. You can usually find the two of them up early in the morning praying and studying the word of God and on Saturday mornings they tend to be in the kitchen discussing the word of God, family, life itself or just laughing about something over a hot cup of coffee. Moments that the bride always cherishes. Etta is a great inspiration to the bride to go deeper in Christ and I’m glad she will be by my side sharing in this special moment.

Raven is my mini-me and sister. She has style, she has flare, and she can be a firecracker when provoked and everyone needs one of those in their circle…a guard dog…lol!! Raven loves to travel, shop, eat and dance so look for her on the dance floor. She is a go-getter and is relentless when she sets her intentions on something she goes after it with everything she has. Quick story…Raven has always wanted to meet Chris Brown in person, and she would not give up until she did. This moment literally manifested from a thought and daily declarations that one day she was going to meet him. Raven exhibited what persistence, positive thinking, daily declarations, and actions will get you when you don’t give up. I was extremely happy for this moment for her because this was a dream come true literally. So, on my big day who greater to share this moment with than her.
Patricia Weaver

Patricia a.k.a. “Tricia” is the brides’ younger sister whom I’m sure you’ll catch on the dance floor at some point. The bride and her baby sister have a strong bond and she loves her dearly. Patricia is currently finishing up her Senior year in college. She aspires to be a Licensed Marriage Therapist. Patricia is a beautiful person with a beautiful soul, and she holds a soft spot in the bride’s heart. The bride is glad that she was able to witness her transformation from an adolescent into an amazing adult human being. Patricia is very intelligent and has a lot of determination. She doesn’t allow circumstances of any kind to prevent her from living life, a beautiful quality to have and she possesses it. Patricia is gifted in more ways than one and I’m so blessed to have her stand with me on this special day.

Keisha is one of the brides’ best friends/ride or die. Keisha took the bride to her first night club before she was even of age…shhh…lol!! and boy did they have a great time. Keisha was also one of the people who taught the bride how to drive a car when she was a teenager. She has always been there in good times and bad times. They have argued, fussed, cried, and laughed together over the years and nothing has been able to separate them. Their friendship is just as strong today as it was back in high school and that’s because the foundation is solid. The bride could not have imagined this day without her.
Farah Lauture

Farah is one of the brides’ favorite people and close friend. Their paths crossed one sunny day on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC as Farah was moving in as a transfer student and they have been close friends ever since. Farah currently works for the school system in North Carolina and is the proud mama bear of a very handsome 10-year-old boy named Mason whom she adores. Farah is a kind and generous person and though Farah and the bride live miles apart no amount of distance can sever that connection. Their relationship is invaluable. We’re like a soap opera we always pick up from where we left off just like we never missed a day. After all, that’s what real friends do. So, when I thought about who I wanted to stand with me on June 15, 2024, it was a no brainer.
