(1) Crown Point Vista House: GORGEous views of the GORGE. (2) Bridal Veil Falls: If Tarim’s mom can do this mild and short "hike" in dress sandals, so can you. (3) Multnomah Falls: the tallest waterfall in Oregon.
James took Tarim to the Nike HQ where he challenged her to a long-jump contest (both were long-jumpers at some point in their track careers; James won). James and Tarim read "Shoe Dog" by Phil Knight last year and have a deeper appreciation for Nike.
James took Tarim to Mother's just before proposing to her nearby at the waterfront in the teeth-chattering winter cold.
For a beautiful view of Portland's green landscape over a hearty meal with your loved ones
We watched many sunsets over this panoramic view of downtown Portland.
An excellent local option for the wine enthusiast. The hilltop view is amazing! You need to reserve in advance.
There is no sales tax in Oregon — Hallelujah! So pack lightly with extra room in your suitcase ;) Tarim’s favorite malls are Pioneer Place downtown and Washington Square Mall. For outlet lovers, Woodburn Premium Outlets is about 30 minutes south of Portland. There are many cute hipster boutiques that dot downtown as well.
James brought Tarim's parents to Cannon Beach during their first visit to Oregon. Be sure to stop by Mo's for clam chowder in a sourdough bowl.
James brought Tarim here on a foggy day. Little did she know that she would have to climb barefoot up a 240-foot sand dune. The view at the top is beautiful on a clear sunny day.
The tallest waterfall in all of Oregon! Anticipate having difficulty finding parking as this is a popular tourist destination.
Enjoy the rushing Columbia River waters and a view of the Bridge of the Gods while chowing down on a burger from the family-friendly diner, Bridgeside. If you want to be right next to the waters, then Thunder Island Brewing has an excellent variety of unique beers.
