Northern California has warm days and cool nights. Temperatures range from 80 degrees during the day to 60 degrees in the evening. Guests should be prepared for a range of temperatures as our ceremony and lawn party will be outdoors and our reception will be indoors in a rustic barn.
No, the region has a variety of hotel and Airbnb options. We created a hotel block in effort to centralize our guests and provide busing to and from our events.
Yes, both event venues will have parking options. Parking is free.
We will have plenty of vegetarian food options. We are not able to plan beyond that.
We are not including children beyond our immediate families. Take advantage of the open bar, free transport and night away. Get out on the dance floor and bust out those dance moves. We bet you still got it.
Mehndi (MEN-dee): the practice of making designs on a bride's hands and feet with henna (a reddish-brown dye) for Indian weddings. In the Hindu tradition, mehndi is part of the Solah Shringar, or sixteen bridal adornments, which is a ritual for the beautification of the bride from head to toe at the time of her wedding. It’s said that the darker the stain of the mehndi, the more love the bride will receive from her husband and in-laws. Traditionally, a Mehndi party is a pre-wedding event for the bride and her closest female friends and family, but modern Mehndi parties are co-ed with guests from both sides, which ours will be. The mehndi artist will apply simple designs to guests' hands during the party. Each design will take less than 10 minutes to apply. The paste will take about 30 minutes to dry and can be left on as long as overnight for a rich, dark color.
