Tara and I met three years ago, on Valentine’s Day after matching on Tinder. Rather than chit chatting back and forth on the app, we had decided pretty quickly instead to talk on the phone. That first phone call seemed like it went on forever, in the very best way! Instantly, I knew that this was not a typical tinder match, and I wanted to get to know this girl. So, I asked Tara if she had any plans for Valentine’s Day and when she said no, I knew this was my chance to make a really great first impression! I mean, a first date? On Valentine’s Day?! Come on… score! That day finally came and I got off of work and went home to get ready. I told my friends about my upcoming plans to go and meet this girl and they had wished me luck but also were slightly concerned that I was meeting someone for the first time.. on Valentine’s Day… an hour away. I let them know what I would be careful and also that I’d let them know I was safe and everything went okay. Finally, I was off to make the hour long, one way trip to Visalia. I brought her flowers and met her at her apartment and to my surprise, i was the one being swept off my feet! Tara had decorated her apartment kitchen and dining area with the cutest Valentine’s decor. She had a bottle of champagne and a bottle of Stella Rosa Black because she knew I liked wine! Top it off with some yummy cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries to enjoy after dinner. We headed out to dinner at Sequoia Brewing Company in downtown Visalia. After dinner we headed down the road to Visalia Brewing Company for some drinks. We talked about life and what we were looking for in a relationship. Up until that point, both Tara and I had been through some pretty rocky relationships and we both came to the conclusion that we knew what we wanted. In that moment. We were two people ready to make a move forward in our lives and I’m so thankful that our timing was right. We headed back home for some cheesecake and the rest is pretty much history!
