We had plans with a group of coworkers, to get wings and beer at P.J. Whelihan's. One by one everyone ended up bailing for work or family obligations, leaving us to our "unofficial" date.
We are avid concert goers, and share a general love of music. We have seen the Black Keys, Citizen Cope, Black Crowes, Gary Clark Jr., Jack Johnson, Incubus, Marilyn Manson, the Alabama Shakes, Sea, Hear, Now Music Festival and more. Technically, our first concert together before dating was an impromptu invitation to see Korn at the Sands Event Center with a few coworkers.
After spending Thanksgiving with family in VA, we headed down to Gatlinburg, TN for a much anticipated Smokey Mountain Family vacation. Nothing could have prepared us for evacuating due to forest fires combined with high winds that ravaged the Smokey mountains and devastated the region. Missing the flames by merely a few minutes, we said a family prayer and fled in Tara's car to Knoxville with just the clothes on our backs. This was a pinnacle point in our relationship and as a Family.
Together, we happen to have a knack for finding "free" entertainment. A baseball game will go into extra innings and football, basketball and hockey always seems to find a way into overtime. Tara has never been to a game with Luke where it hasn't! She must be a good luck charm.
A favorite springtime tradition of ours is to visit the Lehigh Valley wine trail. We find it to be an opportunity to kick back, relax, support local wineries, taste amazing wines and good food from the participating food trucks.
