Things To Do

Here are some of our favorite restaurants in NYC. And a few tips: 1. Except for Peter Luger Steak House, do NOT go to a steak house for steak. You can get a really good to great steak at almost any good restaurant in NYC. 2. Restaurants near Times Square are overpriced and mediocre. Don't pay NYC prices for mediocre food. If you want dinner before seeing a Broadway show, go to Hudson Yard area. 3. Make reservations ahead of time! At least a week ahead of time, if not two weeks.

David Burke Tavern

135 East 62nd Street, New York, NY 10065

Upper East Side of Manhattan. Great food, a little expensive but not pretentious.

19 Cleveland

19 Cleveland Place, New York, NY 10012

Great casual Mediterranean food. Perfect place for lunch or dinner while shopping in Soho.

Dos Caminos

1567 Broadway, New York, NY 10036

If you actually venture to Times Square (which I don't recommend but if you insist), this is a local good Mexican chain, with multiple locations around the city.

NAR Modern Turkish Cuisine

34 East 20th Street, New York, NY 10003

Near Gramercy/Flat Iron area, this is a wonderful Turkish restaurant. Seriously, one of our favorite restaurants.

Comodo

23 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10010

Near Gramercy/Flat Iron area, this is pan-Latin American food. Amazing flavors. One of the best restaurants we've eaten at in NYC. We went here for Josh's birthday.

maman

22 West 25th Street, New York, NY 10010

Cozy French cafe, with various locations around the city.

Lady Mendl's Tea Salon

56 Irving Place, New York, NY 10003

Afternoon tea time! Nice and relaxing. Be prepared, though, for it to be about 2 hours. And you'll be stuffed! With various rounds of tea and small bites, it actually makes you quite full.
