How We Met

First comes snowboarding and dogs, then comes marriage.

This love story commences at Big Boulder where Jon built phenominal terrain parks that Tara spent endless hours lapping. Little did Jon know, Tara admired his work ethic and how he'd test the big jumps by spinning 5's first try before they were open to the public. Jon left Big Boulder briefly for Colorado, coinciding with Tara's move to Utah. Eventually, they both returned to the Poconos. A few years later, Jon threw a fancy Christmas party. This party included a poorly decorated 10 foot tall by 6 foot wide Christmas tree that toppled over mid-party, startling his dog, Aubrey, along with "drunky bears" and his friends who would later teach Tara the art of partying. Tara spent an hour cuddling Aubrey that night so some may say she fell in love with the dog first, but it wasn't shortly after that she fell in love with Jon too.

The Proposal

8.28.22

They embarked on a camping expedition to Massey's Landing in Millsboro, DE, to commemorate Tara's birthday. The evening commenced with a romantic dinner at a charming French restaurant that transported them to the streets of Paris. After a leisurely stroll along Rehoboth Beach and a bit of shopping at the surf shops, they returned to the campground. As twilight descended, Jon suggested a bike ride to the bay. Their carefree adventure led to an encounter with security, who reprimanded them for riding without proper lights, evoking a childlike escape as they fled from a pursuing golf cart. They pondered their journey alone on the beach. Jon seized the moment once they got to the waters edge, dropping to one knee and proposed. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in OBX!
