Every great mission begins with an unexpected twist. Tara and Jim had crossed paths before, but fate had a far more dramatic plan in motion. After Jim was in a head on collision with a semi truck, one of his family members felt an undeniable pull to call Tara, despite not knowing why. When Tara walked into his hospital room, Jim was barely conscious, yet his heart monitor erupted the moment she appeared. It was as if his heart recognized her before he could. That spark turned into something neither of them could ignore. More dates followed, and only a month later they found themselves in Cabo San Lucas. Swept up in the moment, Jim asked Tara to marry him. Without a ring, Tara couldn’t accept quite yet. When Jim finally did propose, in true Jim fashion, he tossed the ring toward her with a stack of mail. Tara said yes immediately. They returned to Cabo San Lucas to make it official on October 24, 1997. Since then, their greatest mission has been raising their two children, Morgan and Jake, building a life filled with love, resilience, humor, and countless adventures. That mission has now expanded as they have proudly stepped into the role of grandparents, adding a whole new layer of joy to their story. Their vow renewal marks the next chapter of a bond that has proven unbreakable.
