Jake has just graduated while Tara was finishing up 10th grade. At the end of the year the 2 noticed one another just a little too late or so they thought! Tara’s parents finally allowed her to have a cell phone at the start of summer. Luckily!!—Jake, being the ambitious young man he is, investigated and eventually caught wind of that number. They set up a double date for Saturday July 7th 2003, with Tara’s sister Cortney and Jake’s brother Bill. Their siblings were the same age and shared a few classes together. Jake & Bill picked the girls up and met their parents. The boys were both polite and very charming. So far so good! Jake drove a black 3000GT named Arwen. They stopped and got franks pizza then introduced the girls to the infamous Bajek abode for the very first time! Jake started off by teaching Tara the ways & wonders of “The Blue Stuff” (vodka and blue kool-aid) and then taught everyone how to play beer pong Beirut style! “Thee Only way to play!” After a few games the girls felt significantly invincible and decided they wanted to go play basketball under the lights. Jake and Bill instantly agreed and they ended up at Warrendale Park deeply invested in a 2 on 2 - Guy V. Girl - severely flirtatious basketball game! After the Pazz sisters served the Bajek brothers a shameful loss... (and the boys definitely didn’t let them win!!) they made their way back to house where Jake and Tara shared their very first kiss! Little did they know, this is the kiss that would change their lives forever! At that very moment 2 young hearts burst wildly with love and excitement. They felt like two puzzle pieces who had found their ultimate match. They then both realized these new feelings were going to last a very long time. Now they will stand together - 16 years later to the day - and they will share the same heartbeat, life, and now last name. And yes... they are still very competitive with one another, but that’s what makes this love so special.
