Cody and I met in 2017 while working at the Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington. I was an intern, so I worked the pool bar primarily and then helped out some in the restaurant, where Cody was a server and bartender. Because I worked primarily out by the pool, it wasn't until several months after I worked there that I really got to know Cody. I knew he worked in the restaurant, but honestly I thought his name was Travis for the longest time. Being in Kentucky, the Marriott got really busy for Pony Finals, so I got scheduled in the restaurant to help out Cody. It wasn't until then that I learned his name was not Travis, but Cody. After work, we would all go out for drinks, and I got to know Cody even more. After I left the Marriott for a new job on campus, Cody and I remained friends. I invited him to my sorority's date party, which ironically turned out to be at Griffin Gate, in the ballroom where our reception will be. The Griffin Gate holds a special piece for our hearts, so we knew it was the right choice for us to have our wedding reception there.
