How we Met

5.28.2017

All we can say is technology is amazing, we both swiped right! We met online and our worlds collided with love and joy! We both share the same love for baseball so it was fitting our first date was at the Astros game on memorial day (5-28-17). We had such a memorable experience and knew our personalities matched just like our birthdays which are two days apart in April. Our love has grown throughout the state of Texas as we love to travel and explore new cities together. We both can't wait to bond our relationship with marriage and invest our time towards each other with love and expand our travel places beyond Texas.

The Engagement

Her Version of the Story

I was so excited for my family yearly vacation to the Freakin' Frio River and this year was going to be special because not only was Chris coming but we extended the invite for his family and it was the first time our families would meet. Our family got along great and we enjoyed so many memories that weekend especially on 6.23.18, we started our day at the Frio River hanging out with family, listening and singing to music then came back to the house and jumped into the pool. There was a helicopter that had been flying around the last few days and Chris was adamant about wanting to go on this ride to get a good view of the Hill Country, I didn't think anything of it because my sister and brother in law were going to join us on the excursion. When we got to the helicopter Lance said he started to feel sick and opted not participate in the ride (not knowing this was part of the plan because only 3 could ride) I was so annoyed that he chickened out! None the less we boarded the helicopter and lifted off. The scenery was breathtaking and I was enjoying every minute when the guide noted that this was the perfect spot and then Chris spoke into the earpiece and said "Tara do you remember the special surprise I told you I had, Will you marry me?" It was beyond a perfect moment and as we flew past our landing spot our entire family was down below screaming and yelling, I threw my hand outside of the helicopter and shouted "IM ENGAGED!" I had no idea that everyone had known about the engagement and when we landed I was over joyed with love. As if I hadn't cried enough when we got back to the house Chris then got down on one knee and said he wasn't able to do it the proper way in the helicopter and proceeded to ask for my hand in marriage. Everything about that day was perfect and having our family there was just the icing on the cake.

The Engagement

His Version of the Story

I knew this day was going to be special for us, I had been hiding the ring from Tara for 3 months waiting for this trip. I originally wanted to take her on a walk and propose but we couldn't find the sweet spot and having Sherra secretly following us around would have been weird. I was excited about having my family with me although my mother was probably annoyed because I kept bothering her to not forget the ring! Throughout the weekend there was a helicopter that kept flying around us doing scenic tours, Lance and Sherra had the brilliant idea to propose in it. I was extremely nervous because I am afraid of heights but I wanted it to be special and I knew this was the perfect way to surprise her. While Tara was relaxing soaking up the sun in the pool we drove down to the site and arranged the perfect spot and plan to propose, unfortunately only 3 could ride so Lance had to sit this one out and man he played sick very well, Tara was so upset that he "chickened out." Before we left I was pacing around the house from anxiety of flying and anxious to pop the question, Karen (Scott's sister) pulled me aside and prayed with me, I knew at that moment everything was going to be okay. When we took off on the helicopter the view was surreal, Tara kept trying to hold my hand but I was so scared I kept letting go to hold onto the handles and grabbing my pocket to make sure the ring was still there. I waited for the pilot to say, "this is the perfect spot" and that's when I asked Tara, "Will you Marry Me?" I slowly pulled out the ring and held on tight so the wind wouldn't knock it out and of course she said YES! The best part of the experience was flying back and looking down at 30+ family members down below yelling and screaming with joy. When we got back to the house i got on one knee and let her know I wanted to do this right and asked her hand in marriage again. This was the best day of my life thus far and I can't wait to spend my life with her.
