FAQs

Question

Where and at what time do the events take place?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place at 3 pm at the Lakeshore Unitarian Universalist Congregation (LUUC) in Lachine. The address is 5065 Rue Sherbrooke, H8T 1H9, Quebec, Canada. Please arrive at 2:30 for some chit chat before finding your seat. After the ceremony, please make your way to the Concordia Loyola Hive. This is also on a Sherbrooke street, but not the same Sherbrooke street! A cocktail hour will begin at 5 pm. This is a student space located adjacent to the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall. For more information on finding your way to our venues, please refer to the "Travel" page.

Question

What is the parking situation like?

Answer

Our ceremony venue, the Lakeshore Unitarian Universalist Congregation (LUUC), does not have a designated parking lot. Street parking is usually available adjacent to the chapel, but we encourage carpooling or taxi/uber as guests who arrive later may need to find parking a few streets over. The reception venue, the Concordia Hive - Loyola Campus, has a large amount of paid private parking available. The cost of parking is about 6 dollars for the evening. Unfortunately, there is only 1 payment machine and we were unable to arrange pre-payment, so there will be a bit of a bottleneck there as guests pay for their parking one by one. We definitely suggest carpooling if possible! There is also street parking found around the campus.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We are going for a retro 70's vibe, and we invite you to have fun with this. We suggest semi-formal summer wedding attire, with a little funky flower power or groovy disco vibes. If you feel so inclined, bell bottoms, sequins, gold medallions and other costumey flare are encouraged! But don't overthink it, the most important thing to us is that you are comfortable and having fun - there is no strict dress code and we don't want anyone to feel pressure!

Question

What's on the menu?

Answer

Dinner will be a buffet style selection of crowd pleasers. Drinks will be an open bar of wine, seltzer, beer and a few signature cocktails. If you have any dietary restrictions that you didn't submit with your RSVP, please reach out to either of us to and let us know ASAP.

Question

Can I invite a plus one?

Answer

We wish we could invite everyone, but we have opted to keep our guest list intimate. We can only accommodate those formally listed on the invitation. If you think we missed someone, please reach out either of us to let us know!

Question

Can I ask the DJ to play "Disco Duck"?

Answer

We have worked on playlist of songs which we are very excited about, and our DJ's were specially chosen for their skill and curation. While it is possible that your favourite throwback song isn't on the list, we think we've got almost every crowd pleasing 70's song on there. Keep your ears open for some City Pop music as well (a personal favourite of ours). We have passed along the list of song requests from the RSVP form to our DJ's, so we kindly ask our guests to refrain from making requests to the DJ on the night of.

Question

Do you have a wedding registry for gifts?

Answer

We will not have a wedding registry and are not expecting gifts from anyone. As many wedding invites before this one have said, your presence is the greatest gift of all. If you do wish to honor us with a gift, a contribution toward our future together would be groovy. There will be a box at the wedding for cards, well wishes and anything else you might want to stick in there.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

April 1st! If you anticipate needing longer to finalize your plans, however, kindly let us know and we will be happy to wait until you can be sure :)
