Tanya and Austin met in the spring of 2017. They were both juniors at the University of South Carolina, with majors in the College of Computing. At the time, they were focused on their exams and didn't expect to see each other again. Summer came and went, and in the fall of their final year, they ended up in the same group for their Senior Design project. Austin and Tanya had an instant connection, and they found out very quickly as they studied together. Study groups turned into study dates, and eventually, that grew into spending more time together outside of school. Austin invited Tanya out for Carolina Shag Dancing, and they danced away every Thursday night with their friends. They were spending so much time together, it became clear that the two were meant to be best friends and more. On March 16th, 2018, they took a trip to North Carolina where they attended a private pottery class and hiked to a waterfall. This was the day Austin asked Tanya to be his girlfriend. Since then, they've traveled across the country, supported each other in higher education/new jobs, and made countless memories with their families and friends. Their last trip of 2022 led them to New York City on December 2nd, where he proposed to her in Central Park, under Bethesda Terrace. We are excited to celebrate Tanya and Austin, and we hope to see you join the celebration!
