In 2008 Tanya went to an astrologer who told her that in a couple years she'd meet her Divine Mate. "He would be older, dark-haired, brown-eyed and from far away." Tanya found this very hard to believe. In January of 2010 I moved 2,000 miles from my hometown of Seattle to Nashville. Tanya caught my eye the first time I saw her at a show we both played. She was with MOH Brianne’s band, and I with my band. Nashville still being so small, we ended up running into each other all the time. I occasionally asked her friends about her, but I never made any serious moves. She was different from everyone else, and I was very interested, but somehow I instinctively knew - if anything were to happen - this would have to be a long-game situation. Then in late Nov 2013, Tanya asked if I'd help her write songs for her upcoming debut album. I couldn't believe my luck! This would finally be a chance to spend quality time with her. Our first session yielded “Let My Love” which has serendipitously become the most-streamed song of both of our careers. That same night Tanya revealed how hard it was for her to find a “tall, dark and handsome man.” I kept my mouth shut, hoping she'd eventually see me. Sure enough, a few writes later something clicked. But now that we were deeper in the project, the tables had turned and I felt I should remain “professional,” and turned down her offer to take our relationship further. She made it clear this “window of opportunity” would not be open long. Thankfully, that same night I met up with some friends (including “Man of Honor” Mick), and within 5 minutes they talked some sense into me. Throwing caution to the wind, I drove straight to Tanya’s and thus begun the most important romance of our lives. Over these last 6 years we've grown in ways we never could have anticipated, and become the partners we always wished for. We're so excited to take this love story to the next level and share this moment with all of you, near and far.
