What is the dress code?

Answer

The theme is The Great Gatsby for the Saturday Celebration Event - check out the Reference Guides section for inspriation. You don't have to dress up but we hope you will have fun with it.

Do I have to dress in 1920s style?

Answer

Not at all! We chose a theme to add to the fun but you choose your own adventure and if you are more comfortable dressing for a modern-era evening 'wedding', please do what's best for you!

I have a dietary restriction, can I have an alternative meal?

Answer

Welcome to Portland, we are no strangers to dietarty restrictions. Please just let Tanya or Ned know in your RSVP and we'll get you taken care of. The meals will be served family style at tables of 8.

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

No, however we have a list of hotels located close to the reception listed under "Travel", you are welcome to use one of those or find your own place that suits you.

Will dinner be served? What kind of food?

Answer

Yes we will have appetizers during the welcome hour prior to dinner which will be served family style at tables of 8. The menu is still in the works from a caterer (White Pepper) we've experienced before.

Indoors or Outdoors?

Answer

The Saturday Celebration Event is Indoors at a downtown Portland theater venue. Lake Day is indoors and outdoors - we've rented the Lacamas Lodge in Camas, WA so in the event of inclement weather we'll have plenty of shelter.

What is Lake Day?

Answer

This is our Welcome Event located on Lacamas Lake at Lacamas Lake Lodge, this is very informal, we thought it would be a fun way to see our small community and get out on the lake if you like or stay in the lodge and play games and visit. we'll BBQ some food and have limited drinks and have classic lawn games, karaoke and snackage.

Where can I rent a Paddleboard for the Lake Day Welcome Event

Answer

You can rent them at Sweetwater SUP rentals, this is place located right on the lake so you don't have to transport anything, it's within walking distance of the lodge we'll all meet at. There website is --> https://sweetwatersuprentals.com/

Do I need to reserve a Paddleboard?

Answer

No, but it's highly recommended if you want to get out on the water. We're sure others will have boards to borrow as well. We'll bring some floaties as well.

Lake Day in Camas and Reception in Portland, Where do I stay?

Answer

That may depend on what you plan to do before and/or after the Celebration Events. It's only about a 25min drive between the two locations so you have a lot of options. Even though there is easy access to Uber or Lyft rideshare services from downtown Portland, we are planning to stay downtown on Saturday night at one of the many hotels within walking distance to the Great Gatsby Celebration venue.

Where do I park?

Answer

For the Saturday Celebration Event there will be plenty of parking garages in the area. Smart Parks are generally the best value. Many hotels are within walking distance. For Lake Day, there will be plenty of free parking at the lodge.

Why do you keep saying paddleboard?

Answer

Paddleboarding is our jam but you can kayak, efoil, float in a blowup or not get in the water, it's all good. The lodge we rented has a private dock to easily get in and out of the water as you please.

What should I bring to Lake Day welcome event?

comfy clothes, swim suit drinks of your choice dry clothes life jacket if you have one

Do I have to go to Lake Day?

Answer

No, If you prefer to explore the area on your vacation, please do so. Please RSVP as you please.

Are kids allowed at the Saturday Celebration Event?

Answer

We love your little ones, but our celebration is an adults-only affair. We hope this gives you the chance to enjoy a night out. Lake Day on the other hand is very family friendly and we'd love to see your kids on Friday if you're available to join us the day before.

Are kids allowed to Lake Day? What about Pets?

Answer

Yes, the entire family is welcome to join us for Lake Day. Please look at the park regulations for Pets to plan ahead. All pets need to be supervised outdoors.
