Michael and Tanya took a road trip to CA for mountain biking, kiteboarding, concerts, and to visit friends. It was a last minute decision (typical) to stay a few days in Santa Cruz at the start of the trip. It was the first time either had explored the Santa Cruz area and quickly became one of their favorite places for biking. They made a plan to bike the Soquel Demonstration Forest. The ascent was tough and sweaty. Add in that the couple got lost and had to hike the bikes up steep terrain to backtrack, made it even tougher and sweatier. Finally making it to the descent point, Michael said he wanted to go in front and get situated so he could "take pictures" of Tanya coming down. Very sneaky and unlike Michael. When Tanya came riding around a corner she saw Michael on the trail ahead getting on ONE KNEE. She instantly dropped the bike, ran over, cried (typical, again) and declared YES! It was the perfect proposal in the beautiful redwoods!
