Mark and Tanya met at work when Mark was hired on in the summer of 2016. He swears he remembers Tanya from the first time he came into the office to interview. Back in those days the office was TINY, and the space near Tanya's desk doubled as both the home of the fax machine, as well as the "waiting room" for visitors. According to Mark, he was seated and waiting to be called back for his interview when Tanya had the need to fax some documents. Apparently it was tight quarters. Though Tanya doesn't remember this in detail, she stands by her claim that she must've made this move on purpose, because really, why couldn't she have waited for him to be called back before handling her fax? A couple years went by without incident, but over the months the casual chats at Tanya's desk when Mark would come into the office became longer as the pair got to know each other better. Finally, Tanya approached a long time friend and mutual co-worker to be her "wing-man" and was given encouragement to the effect of, "he DEFINITELY likes you." At a dinner following a work event Tanya strategically seated herself next to Mark in an attempt to get to talk to him more. After everyone had cleared out of the restaurant, Mark realized he had left his credit card at the bar. Tanya hung back with him and they were finally alone. But Mark did not take advantage of the situation, later kicking himself that he didn't at least hug her goodbye. But the seed was planted, and those work chats turned into non-stop texting after work, and the texting eventually turned into lunch dates at the park, or drinks after work. The spark was immediate and it wasn't long before they were officially a couple.
