Their story started when they both swiped right...and JPaul actually called Tanya to set up their first date (already a good sign!). JPaul organized a lovely evening of walking around South Beach and then attending an interactive museum. On the walk, Tanya suggested they stopped into a bakery, since she could never resist passing one by. They shared a delicious turmeric focaccia and chocolate tart, which started their foodie adventures together. After, they laughed and enjoyed the museum, and ended the night at the beach, where they continued to talk the night away. Neither of them wanted the night to end, but the story wouldn't end there...

For those of you confused by the title, JP proposed to Tanya on his 28th birthday (8/28/2020). A few weeks prior Tanya and JP went ring shopping to find the right size and style Tanya was interested in, with the intention of proposing to her before the end of 2020. At the time JP had sold his condo and moved in with Tanya and her family as they were finding their new home. JP gained her parents (Margie & Nick's) blessings. He then solemnly spoke with his Dad (Norman) & Melissa-Kaye (his sister) about the proposal. He decided that his birthday was the most appropriate time to (queue Beyoncé) put a ring on it. After JP opened up his gifts, he read out a card that was addressed to Tanya, leaving the last words for Tanya to read herself. In Bananagram letters, one of her favorite word games, it spelt out "WILL YOU MARRY ME?". The obvious answer was YES or else you wouldn't be reading this!
