Wedding Party

Micheline Wynkoop

Mother of the Bride

Strong, genuine, and lovingly no‑nonsense, Tanya’s mom is the steady force behind so much of who she is today. She taught her to stand tall, speak plainly, and move through the world with resilience and, of course, to never touch her dishes (Doug!). A woman who loves to travel and live fully, she shared formative adventures with Tanya. From the sun‑washed Florida Keys to the quiet awe of Alaska’s waters. In every place, her strength led the way. She is constant, capable, and deeply caring... one of the most influential people Tanya knows. Her love is grounded, enduring, and deeply known. It is felt in everything that follows.

Karen Nettell

Mother of the Groom

Karen Nettell is a loving mom, a true angel, and the steady heart of her family. She raised three sons with unwavering support, warmth, and a knack for always being there when it matters. Karen spent decades as the lead pharmacist at Snyder Drugs, serving her community with intelligence and care. She’s a devoted family woman, an avid traveler and a proud sports mom who loved watching her boys play. She loves Christmas, makes an unforgettable strawberry rhubarb pie, and has a way of making everyone feel welcome.

Wayne Wynkoop

Father of the Bride

Tanya’s dad was the one you went to when you hoped the rules might bend. She and her sister, Sabrina, knew he was the soft landing, despite the fact that he looked like someone you did not argue with. He was a mountain man in every sense: six foot four, dark hair, ice blue eyes, built for adventure. The basement told the story, bears and boars on the walls (cable TV missed a real one). Tanya never saw his legs bare, except once, when a brutal sunburn finally defeated his jeans. He commanded respect without asking for it. He showed up when it counted. He carried strength lightly and humor like a weapon. His presence still does the work, steady, uncompromising, and impossible to forget.

Frank Nettell

Father of the Groom

Frank Nettell is strong, funny, and deeply devoted to his family. An engineer by trade, he managed the power plant in Marquette and was never late to a day of work in his life. Doug always looked up to his dad, and for good reason. A natural athlete, Frank comes from a long line of them...his own father was inducted into the Michigan Tech Hall of Fame for two sports. Frank still likes to remind people of his athletic prime, occasionally inviting the boys to admire his calves. His wisdom runs just as strong, delivered with humor: “If you failed math, I guess you could be a doctor.” His priorities are clear: his wife is number one, the Green Bay Packers are a close second. We love him for his strength, laughter, and his dedication he brings to this family.

Maurice Davison

A Guiding Presence & Chosen Family

Maurice arrived with ease, the kind that feels like taking a full breath without realizing you were holding one. Easygoing, pub‑loving, and unmistakably English, he brought calm where it was needed and laughter where it mattered. He stepped into Tanya’s family with respect, never trying to replace what could not be replaced, but instead carving out his own lane. That choice alone speaks to his character. Serious when it counts, silly when it helps, he is one of the few who can draw out her mom’s humor and remind her to laugh. A relationship Tanya did not know she needed, but one she treasures deeply. She is simply glad her mom found someone worthy of her.

Kyle Darcy

Officiant

Kyle Darcy is fun, hilarious, and genuinely one of a kind. A natural connector and lifelong jokester, he’s also the person who helped bring Doug and Tanya together (alongside his wife, Jess) who played a key role in reconnecting them when the timing was finally right. Sometimes love just needs the right friends nudging it along. Kyle is deeply kind, endlessly entertaining, and a devoted dog lover. He has a special talent for nicknames, most notably calling Doug “Snizzly Bones,” which somehow stuck and now feels official. With Kyle and Jess at the heart of this story, it feels only right that Kyle is the one standing here today—telling it honestly, keeping us laughing, and making the whole thing feel exactly right.

Taylor Parks

Maid of Honor

Taylor and I technically met through her husband, Chaz, on a Northern Michigan weather adventure that went sideways when their tent gave up in a storm. Cold, soaked, and desperate for warmth, they landed at my door, where a dry house, a real bed, and a little refuge quietly changed everything. Somewhere that weekend, I also convinced Taylor to go skinny dipping with Chaz for the first time, because some friendships begin with trust and a little recklessness. But it wasn’t until later, after trading books and letters and staying in touch across distance, that we truly met each other. When we eventually worked together at TV6, the connection took root. She is a Virgo perfectionist to my Taurus steadiness, and somehow the balance holds. Thoughtful, loyal, and deeply supportive, Taylor is the kind of friend who stays, and I could not imagine this day without her beside me.

Jessie Cobian

Best Man

Doug has known Jessie since college, but their friendship was truly forged at Stucko’s, where long shifts turned into a lifelong ride‑or‑die bond. From day one, they’ve been the kind of friends who show up, back each other fully, and would do just about anything for one another. Jessie now lives in Chicago with his wife, Jennie (his “little peanut”) and he knew she was the one long before anyone else. In fact, he famously told Tanya early on, “I’m going to marry that girl,” and never wavered. They’ve been side‑by‑side through thick and thin, with plenty of laughs and a lot of sun‑soaked trips to Mexico along the way. Loyal, fun, and endlessly genuine, Jessie is the kind of friend you want in your corner—and exactly the kind of person you want standing beside you on a day like this.

Lauren Cull

Bridesmaid

Lauren and I met at Lagniappe, slinging po’boys in the basement and listening to the same songs on repeat. Those shifts were loud, messy, and fueled by bad decisions and relentless music... enough to make a person a little unhinged. Thus began the infamous “dinga‑dinga‑dinga” situation. If you know, you know. Lauren is the formidable friend your enemies fear, but she leads with love first… and fear second. If we ever found ourselves in an unfortunate clinker situation, she’d absolutely be my first call; already on the move, already laughing. What started as pure fun grew into something steady and real. I’ve been lucky enough to watch Lauren become an incredible wife and mother, carrying the same warmth, strength, and joy into every part of her life. I’m grateful she’s standing beside me. Then, now, AND forever.

Mark Nettell

Groomsman

The “baby brother” of the family—Doug had to stop calling him his “little brother” years ago once Mark outgrew him, but the name stuck anyway. Always dependable, even if he can be a little stubborn, Mark was someone Doug tried to look out for growing up—and now takes a lot of pride in the strong, successful man he’s become. Mark lives in Marquette but travels monthly to the Middle East for work. We’re all still waiting for him to offer to share some of those sky miles.

Jennie Cobian

Bridesmaid

I first met Jennie after hearing about “the little peanut” during a work trip to Chicago, when Jessie very confidently announced she would one day be his wife. He was right. Through many trips, long distances, and especially sun‑soaked time in Mexico, Jennie and I grew close, and she became one of my people. She’s a spitfire with a soft center, genuine to a fault and deeply empathetic. That love shows up everywhere, especially at home, where she and Jessie adore their cats like children. Remmie makes biscuits and pulls overtime, Coco Cat rules with spice and selective affection, and Poncho remains the original street‑cat warrior. Jennie’s strength lives in quiet loyalty, real love, and showing up fully. I’m endlessly grateful for the friendship we’ve built across miles, years, and a little chaos.

Brandon Johnson

Groomsman

Brandon and Doug go way back to the Stucko’s and Breakers days, along with Jessie and the rest of the crew. What started there stuck, and they’ve stayed close through all the ups and downs life inevitably throws. Loyal, steady, and genuinely kind, Brandon is the kind of person you can always count on. Over the years, their friendship has been filled with golf, great food, plenty of laughs, and Christmases spent together that mean a lot. And of course, no mention would be complete without Mexican Train dominoes—bringing just the right amount of competition and chaos (thanks, Cobians).
