It all started in the summer of 2021 when fate (and a swipe-right) brought Jake and Kelly together. They quickly became inseparable, bonding over their mutual love for hummus, late-night ice cream runs, and spontaneous dance parties in the living room. By February 2023, they were ready to take the next step and moved into a cozy studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Sharing a space barely bigger than a walk-in closet brought its own adventures. Since both worked from home, they quickly developed a system for taking turns using the bathroom for important meetings—nothing says love like scheduling around bathroom breaks! Looking back fondly from their larger apartment now, they believe if they could make it through studio living, they can make it through anything. In September 2023, Jake whisked Kelly away to a picturesque hotel nestled in the mountains of upstate New York for their anniversary. As they hiked to a breathtaking lookout, Jake dropped to one knee and popped the question. Kelly, already breathless from the hike (and maybe a bit from the altitude), managed a resounding "yes!" They celebrated their new engagement with a feast of pancakes at a local diner. The weekend continued in pure bliss, soaking in saunas, swapping stories around the campfire (where Jake exaggeratedly reenacted the proposal), and indulging in cozy dinners filled with laughter and excitement for their future together. When they made it back to Brooklyn, they found their families and closest friends waiting for them at their apartment to keep the celebration going. In November of 2023, Jake and Kelly welcomed a furry bundle of joy into their lives—Bear, a charming Bernedoodle. It was love at first sight, despite Bear's penchant for mischief, particularly her obsession with stealing socks, which she proudly parades around like trophies. Despite her sock-stealing escapades, Bear's cuddly nature quickly won over Jake and Kelly's hearts. In December 2023, Kelly completed an orthodox conversion to Judaism, with Jake as her enthusiastic sidekick throughout. Their journey into Judaism wasn't just educational—it was like a crash course in Challah making, synagogue navigation, and mastering the art of hosting Shabbat. Together, they dove headfirst into learning about Judaism, soaking up knowledge faster than you can say "shalom." This adventure has not only deepened their bond but also given them a shared foundation of traditions that now spice up their lives. Through all the laughter, challenges, and shared adventures, Jake and Kelly have found their perfect match in each other.
