Taylor and Tanner met each other at unexpected times in their lives. Taylor was in school to become a dental assistant, while Tanner was in the process of enlisting in the United States Navy. When their lives first crossed, both were expecting a simple dinner date. However, that night turned into hours of conversation. Both immediately felt a spark that they did not think was imaginable. During this time, Taylor learned that Tanner was soon leaving for the military, which raised many questions and thoughts about how this might work out or even be possible. They both continued to see each other and enjoyed their time together. Every day that passed brought them closer to the thought of the decision to stay together. While both had known each other for a short time, they decided they were going to try to work through the upcoming distance. The only thing they could do was hope and trust in their Lord's plan for the two. And that is exactly what they did. As they became closer, they not only grew closer to God individually, but they also created a relationship with Him. Through many hard talks about the future, endless nights of praying, and hours of Bible study, their future became a clear path. They could only thank God Himself for the places He had taken them. Through the highs and lows, these two kept their faith. Fast forward seven months: the time was coming for Tanner to leave for boot camp. Tanner and Taylor had many talks about wanting to solidify their love and loyalty through marriage. Taylor was unsure when this dream of hers would come true. Tanner, on the other hand, knew that he wanted to ask for her hand in marriage before he left. He surprised his soon-to-be fiancée with what seemed to be a normal Valentine's Day sunset and dinner. While at their favorite place to watch the sunset and read the Bible, Taylor was surprised with a ring and a fiancé. This moment in time was magical and unforgettable for both, followed by many tears of joy. They enjoyed their short time together as fiancés, as Tanner had to leave for boot camp in a month. While in boot camp, Taylor and Tanner wrote to each other every day. Their letters were their only form of communication for ten weeks, aside from a rare phone call that was given to Tanner. Taylor was excited every day to receive updates on how Tanner was holding up and to hear about what they were doing in boot camp that day. Tanner was excited to hear from Taylor and all of the things happening in her life. Not only did their letters contain updates, but they were filled with love and unforgettable words. This is what got them through this time apart from each other. What they learned from it all is that no matter what life throws at them, they will have each other to lean on in times of need. One of their mottos during this time was, "Distance diminishes small love, but strengthens true love." This resonated with them, and to this day, they still say it to one another. As many of you who are held dearly by Taylor and Tanner may know, they decided to hold a small wedding right after boot camp. Although there were only their immediate family present due to timing and limited space, they wanted to express their love in a more formal setting to extended family and friends. They would like to thank all of you for your support, and a special thanks to those who have been there for every step of the way. -Mrs. & Mr. Kline
