In May of 2025, Tanner and I both found ourselves in the world of dating apps. Tanner was casually looking to match with the girl of his dreams (wink wink). I was looking to go on some fun dates to put myself out there, but told myself I wasn’t looking for anything serious yet! Initially Tanner and I matched on the dating app Tinder, where he sent me a classic Tanner style message— he was super goofy and full of charm. I was intrigued, but when I saw that he was located two hours away from me I decided I wasn't willing to date someone long distance, so never responded. I ended up deleting that app... A week or so later I downloaded a different dating app called Bumble. Thank goodness I did, because the handsome red head appeared and we matched again! This time I sent the first message. Tanner says I am lucky he responded because my message was so boring (haha!). After a couple days of messaging we arranged to meet up at a Putt Putt course in Chelan, since he was doing work in the area. Prior to arriving we jokingly agreed to, "not have any fun at all,” and if it turned out to be a terrible time, we'd both pretend we had somewhere to be. Well, the date ended up not being terrible! We went from Putt Putt to a winery, and then ended the date walking around downtown Chelan. It was a super fun 6 hour date and we clicked right away! By the end of our time though, I was very sun burnt. Tanner wasn’t, because he’d been applying Banana Boat sunscreen throughout our date. I had teased him for it relentlessly, and jokes on me because I ended up suffering the consequences and feeling woozy and dehydrated (lesson learned, haha)! Tanner claims I almost scared him away, but lucky for me he gave me another chance! We made the most of the remaining few days he was in town for, spending hours talking and getting to know each other. On Memorial day Tanner made the drive from Maltby to my parents house in Lake Wenatchee so we could spend more time together and he could meet my family. At this point I knew I really liked him and knew that he was making the effort to get to know me, but I couldn't quite tell how he felt about me. On a drive to the grocery store in Plain I said to him, “So are you just trying to be my friend or what?,” to which he responded, "No I don't want to just be your friend. Will you be my girlfriend?" Initially I said, "Are you sure?!" Which quickly turned to a "YES!" Something I love about Tanner that I learned early on is that he means what he says, and says exactly what he means! The rest of our relationship is history! We've spent countless hours on road trips and adventures, meeting each other's family and friends, and falling more and more in love with each other. On December 31st, 2025 Tanner got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was the absolute best day! We cannot wait to celebrate our love story with you in May.
