Question

What precautions will be in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19?

Answer

We are open to ideas so please send them our way. And don't hesitate to ask for further details! Rehearsal Dinner: We will not be having a traditional indoor dinner. We will likely choose to have a small gathering of close friends and family outdoors so that we can spread out. Ceremony: We will have more seats than guests to give all of you the opportunity to spread out as much as you'd like. Reception: Masks will be required to go inside to the restroom, while getting food/dessert, and while waiting at the bar. To reduce lines from forming, our venue will help us to space out trips to the buffet or the bar. You will be seated with people you know in tables of 6 or 8. All tables will be more than 6 feet apart from each other. We will have a dance floor but we encourage you to dance in the open spaces between tables if you feel more comfortable away from the crowd. We will ask all of our guests to be courteous and assume that you would like to distance - until told otherwise.

Which airport should we fly into?

Answer

The 2 best options are Boston, MA (BOS) and Manchester, NH (MHT). Boston - 2 hours and 20 minutes by car. It's a much bigger airport than Manchester, NH and usually less expensive. Manchester - 1 hour and 20 minutes by car. It's an hour closer to Waterville Valley but flights are limited and usually more expensive. Worth a look though! You can also consider flying into Portsmouth, NH or Portland, ME. Both are tiny airports but are with 1.5 to 2.5 hours from the wedding venue.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi formal, cocktail attire. Shoes should be appropriate for tearing up a dance floor.

Will the ceremony and reception be outdoors or indoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outside. Cocktail hour will be indoor/outdoor, and the reception will be tented.

What is the parking situation?

Answer

All hotels and condos have free parking lots. There's also free parking at Town Square. The ceremony will be walkable for many but if needed, there's a small parking lot right beside Osceola Arbor.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While you’re welcome to bring your kids to Waterville Valley, we are opting to have a kid-free reception to maximize fun for the adults. Please reach out if you have specific questions.

Do you have a hotel block?

Answer

Yes. Please refer to our Lodging & Travel tab.

Do I have to stay at one of the hotels in your hotel block?

Answer

No, not at all. The block just allowed us to reserve rooms and get our guests a discount on a 2-night stay. We also tried to choose the lodging options that make walking between town square, our ceremony, and our reception easier for our guests. Waterville Valley is a ski town so there are quite a few other hotels and home/condo rental options. We encourage you to stay wherever is best for you!

Are the ceremony and reception wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes. The ceremony is outdoors but a small number of vehicles can park close to Osceola Arbor for better accessibility. The reception is in a tent with handicap accessible bathroom in the adjacent building.

Why doesn't my invitation have food options? I like choosing between chicken, steak, and vegetarian at every wedding I go to.

Nice catch, we're doing a buffet so please stretch those stomachs before attending our reception. If you have questions or dietary concerns, please feel free to ask us directly.

Who submitted this question? Whoever you are, please take your invitation directly to the trashcan and forget you ever knew us. Just kidding. The easy answer is yes, Lauren is way out of my league. You'll have to ask her directly why she chose to marry me. I ask myself that every day.
