Our love story is by far my favorite! Tanner and I go way back. All the way back to elementary school, riding the school bus and never even speaking to each other. According to Tanner, I was always the mad girl on the school bus... If only he knew I was just very shy. After graduating, we both went in different directions. Tanner left Sparta for the Army and I started school for my Paralegal degree. Fast forward to now, Tanner works with both my dad and brother at Old Dominion in Tomah, WI. My dad would tell me things about Tanner and then tell Tanner things about me. Long story short, my dad kind of set us up in a way, constantly talking about us to the other one. After hearing all of these stories about Tanner, I decided to send him a friend request on Facebook. Within minutes, he accepted the friend request and sent me a message saying "You beat me to it, I was gonna add you first :)" We officially started dating on April 29, 2022 and the rest is history, we have been inseparable ever since! People aren't kidding when they say "when you know, you know." Tanner and I said I love you for the first time 2.5 weeks into our relationship. At 6 weeks into our relationship, I traveled with him 15 hours to Texas to meet his family for the first time. Once we got back from Texas in June 2022 we decided to move in together. Yes, everything moved fast, but for us it was completely right in every way. There came a time where I thought to myself, I can't imagine coming home from work and not having him there waiting at home for me. It was all meant to be!
We started the evening with dinner at Lovechild in La Crosse, WI. I kind of suspected something was going to happen that night because Tanner chose such a nice restaurant for dinner. Little did I know that was part of his plan, was for me to think it was happening at dinner... which it didn't. Once we left the restaurant and started driving, Tanner told me to close my eyes. He started asking me if I had any guesses... I didn't until I felt us heading up and then I realized where we were going. When we got up to Grandad Bluff, we headed over towards the lookout, which of course was full of people. We got over to the lookout just as people were clearing out. I was turning away to take in the view when I realized Tanner was getting down on one knee. It took a minute for me to register the sound of clicking and realizing that Tanner had a photographer there to capture our moment and that she had been following us from the moment we arrived. It was by far the easiest "YES," and just like that we were engaged! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
