Art Walk, Madrid, 28014, Spain

Madrid has 3 marvelous museums located next to each other along the Art Walk: Museo Reina Sofia, specializes in 20th-century Spanish art, focusing on feminism, dreams, the Spanish civil war, and most notably, Picasso’s "Guernica." You'll find works from Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, and other bold-faced names. Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, once an aristocratic mansion, with an enormous collection of European art from artists such as Dalí, El Greco, Monet, Picasso, and Rembrandt. There are some 19th-century American paintings as well as interesting modern pop art. The Prado is a collection of Spanish and international masterpieces, and a source of national pride. Art historian Jonathan Brown has dubbed it “the most important museum in the world for European painting.” The collection of art ranges from the 12th to the 20th centuries; the most famous works are “Las Meninas” by Diego Velazquez and “Third of May 1808” by Francisco Goya.
