On November 2, 2023, Chi Alpha, an international Christian fellowship in Dayton, Ohio, hosted a citywide worship night. The event featured students from the University of Dayton, Wright State, and Sinclair Community College. Among them was Tanner, a student at UD, who found himself stealing glances at Imani, a Sinclair student. As the evening unfolded, Imani decided to take a chance and strike up a conversation with Tanner. When the pastor encouraged the audience of college students to engage with one another, Imani waved to some familiar faces and made her way to Tanner. Their conversation quickly blossomed, with Tanner intrigued by Imani’s life and perspectives. He suggested they talk more after the service. After the event, they shared jokes and eventually phone numbers. Their first date followed a few weeks later, on November 29, 2023, and that night confirmed their connection; they found they could talk and laugh for hours. Over time, their bond deepened, and on December 23, 2023, Tanner asked Imani to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, their relationship grew stronger, anchored in their shared faith in Christ. On October 19, 2024, Tanner proposed to Imani, and she joyfully accepted! They are thrilled to announce their wedding this July. Their journey together continues, nurturing a love rooted in spiritual, mental, and emotional growth.
