In the winter of 2023, Faith first met Tanner walking out of the gym with his friend Brock, and they had a quick but genuinely nice conversation… though neither of them thought much of it at the time. Not long after, Tanner reached out and asked Faith to go on a double date with his best friend Grant to go ice skating, but Faith (still having no idea who this “Tanner guy” was) politely declined. A couple weeks later, Tanner tried again and Faith said she’d only hang out in a group setting—so Tanner planned a party at Grant’s apartment, which was literally about 200 feet from Faith’s apartment, and invited her… still unsure and nervous, she declined. Then in January 2024, Tanner was headed to a worship night his friend Sean hosted on UTK’s campus called Rocky Top Revival, and he invited Faith to come with him. She said yes, and after worship they went to get ice cream at Cruze Farm with Corey and Kendal Johnson (who would later become such a special part of their day—Corey as their officiant). From that night on, Faith and Tanner spent every single day together. It felt like they had known each other for years just after two weeks. On March 11, 2024, Tanner asked Faith to be his girlfriend—and truly, the rest is history.
